Nice. Good job capturing the classic lumbering zombie movement in a 1 bit sprite. Your other project 'Idle Looper Lite' sounds really cool, would definitely check that out!
Thanks! I appreciate the comment! I'm very pleased with the feedback I've received about the animation. It's something I have little experience with, so I didn't expect it to go over so well.
Admittedly, I haven't gone back to "ILL" since the jam finished - kind of wanted a breather :) BUT knowing that there is interest is big motivation, I'll try to get a build ready for release sometime soon!
Scored 800 points on the first run yoooo
It was fun, but of course my hand got tired of constantly clicking hahaha
Not bad for a first game!
GJ. This would sound cool with zombie bit SFX. Kinda got tired at the end of 5 levels though. Maybe add hold down the Enter key to keep firing since the amount of bullets isn't a resource. Or make the zombie less spongy. The enemy animation is cool too. I could tell they were zombies even through the low details.
Thanks for the comment! You make great points. I originally planned to have a limit of snowflakes/bullets and then some sort of reload system, but I did end up cutting that. I didn't think of converting it to an automatic system after that, but I should have! The story is similar with the health. It was supposed to scale with wave number, but it was bugged and didn't work. At that point, I only had an hour or so left to submit so I just set it to 3HP and sent it, lol!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback about the zombie animation, it really means a lot!
A fun little game, what does the number in the bottom right mean?
It's a shame you weren't able to reach your vision. Having a "reloading" mechanic of having to gather more snow or something could have been cool.
Nice work :)
Thank you for playing it! The number refers to a sort of "wave" number, though the wave delay is something like 8 seconds from the last zombie spawn. In practice, it ends up being a more continuous experience lol.
That snowball reload mechanic is exactly the kind of thing I wanted to implement but didn't have time for. Similarly, I wanted to make the snowman rebuild the snow fort (i.e.. heal) after idling for some amount of time. But, that's just how jams go, I guess!
haha very nice! Snow vs Zombies, quite fun! rated!
