This should've won~ I really loved this game! Great animation, the sprite is so cute. It's polished and easy to understand. I can't wait for the next, I hope you make more.

Wow! Absolutely amazing animation. So fluid for this size. Really enjoyed playing.
unironically peak game design like HECK
For a FIRST GAME? Y'all knocked it waaaaay out of the park. Fantastic idea, fantastic execution, and the ANIMATION?? The transitions? The JUICE? 10/10
I hope you guys expand on this idea!
Tried to capture the ending screen before it disappeared but failed lol Just loved it. The animations, level design, sounds and mechanics are top notch. Incredible for being your first game tbh One of the best imo
Excellent game that I wish there were more ambience and SFX for the scene transitions. I'm also not sure if the death scene transition is necessary if you already have the sprite shrinking/pop death animation or vice versa. Maybe just having the sprite give an oopsie face and then doing the transition. Great QOL features like the Reset button and skipping the intro. This can easily be a full game. Thank you for making this.
Amazing work! Out of all the games I've played so far, this is my favorite. The visuals are amazing and the gameplay is super fun.
I love it! The visuals are very charming and cute, and I really like the main mechanic. This has got to be one of the best entries I've played so far!
Very amazing game!
I LOVED the artstyle of it, and the level design is very well done. Freezing yourself and spawning a new character is such a cool idea. My only wish would've been that freezed characters don't despawn when you die, but otherwise the game was nearly pefect :) good job!
Thanks for playing and sharing some feedback! That was quite an intentional design choice (for a few reasons), but we know it's not for everyone. We're going to be developing it more post-jam, so we'll definitely add a 'chilled mode' which adds that option for players who want to focus more on the puzzles :)
Wait, THIS is your first game? Seriously? It's excellent in every way. I love the puzzles (with my main problem being that I wish there were more of them), and the art and sound is both gorgeous and work really well for this game.
I'm crossing my fingers you keep working on this idea after the jam. If it wasn't for the jam restrictions, this is a game I could imagine playing on console for hours.
haha...seriously! I've been teaching myself to code for a little while and have made some squares move around the screen with RayLib / played around with Scratch, but this is the first time actually sitting down and making a game of any description. It was definitely a trial by fire, but we've been talking about doing it for years - so it was super satisfying to finally make something! Thanks for playing and for all of the encouragement! We will 100% be developing the idea further post-jam (probably rebuilt at a higher resolution) and have a tonne of ideas we had to shelve because of the limitations, so watch this space...
I loved seeing this concept of "leaving yourself frozen behind" applied to this jam!! When discussing ideas we were going to use this concept in a kind of racing game but decided to move on after some thought. I really liked the idea and this game implements it very well. Really loved the art and the design of the levels, very suited for a jam.
If I had to give a bit of feedback it would only be two small usability additions. When dying, the other "corpses" shoudln't despawn in my opinion, as it makes players need to redo all "freeze character" cycles again if they miss a jump after "completing" the puzzle. On the other hand, having some UI information to know which direction are your non-screen frozen blocks would be nice to avoid blind-jumps and maybe give information about how much time does a frozen block has left.
As said it is a fantastic game and I enjoyed it entirely. Great job!!
Thanks for playing and sharing some feedback! The player ice cubes despawning on death was quite an intentional design choice (for a few reasons), but we know it's not for everyone. We're going to be developing it more post-jam, so we'll definitely add a 'chilled mode' which adds that option for players who want to focus more on the puzzles
Definitely hear you about the UI / blind jumps too. A basic UI for the block count and a more dynamic camera were on the list, but we prioritised getting the core mechanics solid and working well for the submission deadline. Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing. Art is extremely well done. Great interpretation of the optional theme; I like that the frozen blocks would heat up over the flame.
Amazing, I loved it! The music and sound design is fantastic, and the graphics and art style are very clear and adorable! Very fun to play, nice use of the freeze theme :)
