Description
This game would be a kind of modern retro game. It would be a more modern art style, yet have some music thematic and visual elements to link back to the retro feel. I wanted a strong "chorus" so to speak, but felt as I was writing, the track seemed too slow. It seemed only fitting to crescendo into a final hectic chorus that could even bridge to a crazy boss battle. I intended this piece to be "Intergalactic Infestation" 's main title music, allowing the music in the game to be reworked and rewritten around the different leitmotifs. As for software I used Garageband IOS for the synths and the drums, and I used Reaper to arrange all the parts, as well as record the guitar parts and mix and master the whole song.

Message from the artist:
I hope everyone enjoys this. I had so much fun with this jam. Working along was a setback, and if there's ever a Composer Jam #3 I definitely would pick a partner, but this experience was amazing. I hope you can all enjoy listening to my work as much as I enjoyed making it.

Theme

Panspermia (Πανσπερμία)

How does it fit the theme?
When I read the theme of the theory that there is other life in the Universe, immediately I thought of Sci-Fi. I'm a huge Science Fiction nerd so this was perfect for me to create an outerspacy feeling arrangement. I tried to use different scales to create almost that early 90's sci-fi feel to the music, along with the breakdown before the final chorus to make it feel more modern.

Fully agree on the 90s sci fi feeling - you definitely get that across. And I thought the use of the kill switch was great :D

Developer

I love that kill switch effect! I probably use it too much hahaha

Definitely has that sci-fi feel! I could see this as a theme for a show or game, I like the art as well

I really enjoyed the composition - it was very unexpected and kept my interest throughout! I'd love to see how it would translate with more polished plugins, instruments with different textures. Good job :)

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I would love to remake it with better quality gear but unfortunately this is the best setup I had over the summer.  But thank you!

The electric guitar in 2:03  is  s o  g o o d . it remembers me to the beginning from the cover of "come together" by Gary Clarck Jr

Thank you I appreciate that! I used a tape plugin and cranked the settings to make it as if the tape was moving a lot.  I love the effect it gives.  And that's a great solo to start out that cover!

It's very refreshing ! Love the end of the song, the rythm and pace ! Cool job !

Developer

Thank you so much! The end of the song is my favorite part.  Glad you enjoyed it!

You really played well with main melody, explored different moods and arrangments!

Developer

Thank you!  I really tried to diversify the different parts and add something unique to each of them, so I'm glad it translated well to other ears!

It took an unexpected turn at around 1 minute, and perhaps even bigger turn when things suddenly went up with the tempo. Nice to hear real electric guitar!

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and am glad you liked the electric guitar.  I tried to arrange it to give the piece unique parts building into the final hectic build.  Hope you enjoyed the song.
