The bass track on Boss is SICK! Good stuff!

Tracks 2 & 3 surprised me, especially track 3. They went along with chord progressions and melodies that are right up my alley. I liked them quite a lot.

Ok, this reminds me a lot of a song by Edwarda Savitnaag that was on some anime boobs puzzle game I played on Steam :D I even bought its soundtrack, that's how much I liked it. :D

So this one reminds me of it a lot and that's just great! I really loved this song. It goes the right paths along with what kind of melancholic music I have always loved. One of my favorites in this jam!

Loved the guitar with echo/delay, it set a really nice mood to both songs.

Yeah, listened through the whole thing and even though I still have exactly half of the entries to listen, I'm still going to jump the gun and say this should win the whole jam.

Ok, I'm now at Luppyluppy, and yeah my opinion about this being the best entry just solidifies every second! Very cool track!

Currently at Chaos' Theme and so far this has absolutely been the best entry in the jam, by far! Soundwise it could partly be on SNES and partly on GBA and maybe on DS. Compositionwise it could be in any retro console game around SNES era onwards. Really good work, I'm really impressed by the amount of content and the quality of it too.

Nice change of pace in track 2, I dug the techno feel in it, good melancholic melodies.

Ok, this was crazy! I think this perhaps fits the theme the most so far. Music for different alien life must be something different than for us, so maybe some aliens would love the sound of a paper-like object moving around and things being done to it.

Listened on Soundcloud.

I like the melancholic chord progression on Manfall.

My favorite was Ruins of Magnis Major. Nice sense of melancholy.

I like the track Setting up the Beacon. Great really doomy feeling!

Very good buildup in Curiosity Cave. It's the most melancholic track of the five so it's my favorite of them all.

It took an unexpected turn at around 1 minute, and perhaps even bigger turn when things suddenly went up with the tempo. Nice to hear real electric guitar!

Didn't read the description before I started to listen and I got heavy Earthbound vibes especially from the first track. Was nice to see that actually had been an inspiration!

Great, thanks!

I've already uploaded my tracks and submitted the project. I'm not at home this weekend so I had to finish and submit everything early, but now as I've listened to my track at Soundcloud, I noticed one rather annoying mistake I'd like to fix. So my question is: Is it ok to remove the current tracks from my project and upload fixed tracks if I can do it before deadline, even though I have already submitted my project to the jam? I might not able to do that but if I manage to get back home Sunday a couple of hours before deadline I might be able to do it.

I loved Chagunitzu and Paganitzu back in the day. Played them on my cousin's 286. This is a flawless "demake" of Paganitzu. Good job! I'm actually really impressed how well you've made it work in so small resolution. It really is 100% flawless rendition of the original.

(1 edit)

Fun stuff! Bonus points for being a "non-scrolling" game. I can't tell you how much I love "metroidvanias" where you move one screen at a time. It's surprisingly hard game for me. For some reason I was never able to get to the second save point so things got really frustrating as I died over and over again and had to get back to the first save point. Which isn't a negative criticism from me at all since I think games should be hard and only people with enough skill should be able to finish them. So I gladly admit the game beat me instead of me beating the game (until I get back to it at some point and give it another go).

EDIT:

Ok I just realized it's the second save point I was able to go to. I had missed the first one. Maybe I've missed the third one too. Anyway, it's the one right before you get the high jump ability.
