Description
TRACER is retro game sounds and this album has 2 songs, 'Chaser' and 'Runner'.

I composer by Ableton Live 10 Suite, Chipsynth SFC, Captain Chord Epic Plug-in.

I used Captain Chord Epic first for construct my chords set.
I made drum beats to midi, I used Chipsynth SFC sounds, Kick, Snare and Hi-hats.
And I added melody and bass to my song.
That's my compose style.

Chaser means many people, army, power or any things.
Runner means the player you can control on this fake game.
Runner must get out from power of chaser!

I want to show to retro shooting game feel like Gradius, NEMESIS, and more.
And I want to show to feel like cyber punk style.
I want to mix multiple styles.

There are Trace.

Theme:

Runaway

How does it fit the theme?
I wanted to show the relationship between the pursuer and the pursued.

And I decided on the concept of Chaser and Runner.

Chaser means many people, army, power or any things.

Runner means the player you can control on this fake game.

Runner must get out from power of chaser!

I love that runner theme, so old school. haha. Really motivating, too. I think I'll listen to this next time I go on a run. Thanks for sharing!

You got the emotions right for runner and chaser, very retro. I like chaser the best, its wider in terms of mix, I like the chords. Runner I,m getting annoyed by the high synth sound after some point, I would've like some timbre change to mix it up a bit. Good job !

Developer

Yeah, I'm sorry for Runner's high synth sound.

I did have to do the efforts to the mix of Runner track. 😢

If I have next time, I'll be do my best mix.

Thank you for your advice!

Runner kinda reminded me of some Sonic soundtracks, great job!

Hats off to you for an interesting and engaging retro soundtrack. I've struggled with that style before and know how hard it is to get "right" well done. Also catching a Vangelis vibe which is no bad thing!

Developer

This is nice review for me.

And I appreciate your comment!

Fun tunes man!

Chaser sounds really nice. It gives me a bit of a Vangelis feel in places. I quite like the arpeggiations.

My favorite is probably runner. I think it has some really good vibes. Very upbeat. I imagine it'd be quite uplifting to game to this song.

Developer

Thank you for your impression.

I composed these tracks for the fake retro shooting game.

Because I worked Runner to very upbeat that I composed Chaser like heavy and weighty.

I wanted to be a balance these song that way. :D

Both tracks were of impressive quality, and did well in conveying their own characteristic themes. Having a stronger connection to tie them together would have possibly lifted them to next-level. The drum programming in Runner was super cool.

Thank you for advice!

I think it was necessary to create a smoother connection point between the two tracks.

If I have next time, I hope I can work on creating a strong connection point. :)
