Description
Wisheliver is a 2D (very) small Adventure/Top-Down/Shooter game, and is about a little star that delivers wishes to people all around the world, when it needs, the star is there to give your beautiful wish! And the shooter part is where people start to make wishes, and you - the player - have to shoot a wish in the correct place!

Genre is Electronic with Pop/Rock elements (60s and 70s)

Used FL Studio to compose all the tracks

Used Cave Story Soundfont/WAV Library that Pixel used to make music in his game

Tracks:
*Wish Delivery - Main theme. It can be played in the main manu or on the 1st phase, to start well and know what the game is about, you delivering wishes to everyone!

*Something Is Wrong - The 2nd phase theme (maybe). At this point you notice that wishes that you delivered dissapeared, and things start to get more harder to do (like delivering wishes), and everything is weird right now.

*(I Am Not) Ready - Boss battle theme. You discover that a terrible monster is stealing all the wishes, and they are big, and you're really small, so this theme fits in the moment - more like "Oh my, this monster is so big, I have to defeat him and continue delivering wishes to everyone! But I'm too scared, I don't know what to do!"

*Everyone Can Wish - Final theme. Right in the end of the battle you see that everyone's wishes that you delivered now is on your side and ready to fight the monster. You are absolutely overpowered with this and the monster is defeated! This theme is sort of epilogue, or a credits scene, just to mention that everything is fine and you will deliver wishes for everyone for a very long time!

Message from the artist:

Theme:

Wish upon a star

Love the retro sound choices used throughout. Fun OST, great work!

Wish Delivery: This is such a fun main theme for the game you describe! The melody is catchy and intricate over a relatively simple two-chord progression. I like the trade-off between the two main melody parts and how both have unique and interesting lines. I especially like the grace notes used toward the end of some phrases in the melody line.

Something is Wrong: You have great pacing in this song that seems to have a more complex repeat pattern than a simple AB. While the tone is darker in this piece than the first, I would say that the mood conveyed is kind of like one of searching for something lost (after reading your description, I realized that this is exactly what you were going for- so great job conveying that feeling musically!). My favorite part is the B section where you have the interlude of the bagpipe-like instrument that interjects with the rich chords underneath.

(I am Not) Ready: This theme fits the cute game you’ve been describing where the main character is doubting themselves. I am not sure I get high enough energy levels usually needed for a boss battle, but this definitely works for the emotional content leading right up to the final battle in my opinion. I do think the booming sound effects do help convey the gravity of the situation though.

Everyone Can Wish: This track has the soothing calmness and celebratory nature that fits very well in the end credits spot in a game. The bass pedal tone is really interesting in that it stays constant the whole time, but you vary the harmony around it giving it different harmonic functions in a way that makes it feel dynamic even though it literally does not change at all. This was a fun soundtrack and a fantastic idea for a small game that I think needs to be made into a real handheld game! Great work and thank you for sharing!

Wow! I usually give a like to everyone that comments and i thank every one of them in my mind, but you, you're the one who I have to give a thank you in replying! You gave an in-depth analysis of every single track, I'm so happy about this! Thanks a ton!

P.S.: About the bagpipe-like instrument, I didn't made this on purpose to sound like a bagpipe, I noticed when I uploaded before the jame ends, and my favorite instrument is also the bagpipe, love the sound as well, and I felt very satisfied

This is great!  I'm a fan of the melancholy and nostalgic vibes that your chord progressions give off.  They also fit really well with the soft chiptune sounds you used. good work!

Great work! I really like the track (I Am Not) Ready. It definitely doesn't have the typical boss fight vibes but I think it works with what you were trying to convey. It has a bittersweet feeling that makes you feel that despite how weary  and afraid you are, it's time to face your final obstacle and finish your journey.

Nostalgic!  great work writing catchy melodies. And matches the theme perfectly, "Wish upon a Star".

Love the aesthetic! The classic retro feel is very relaxing. I agree with others that the boss battle music feels a bit too chill though

Nice and catchy! The boss battle theme is surprisingly chill for a boss fight.

Something is Wrong was my favorite!

I love the oldschool feel. Nice variation in your music. Impressive how you achieve this with such simple sounds. Nice melodies overall. I find the pieces end a bit abruptly. Maybe create an ending or make them loop somehow? Something's Wrong Sounds a bit Russian, like the Tetris themes, awesome. (I Am Not) Ready is my fav. Very immersive.
