Thank you! Despite how simple and short Lair of the Beast was it was fun to write. I think next OST I may try to focus more on using simple sounds and instruments and see if I can still manage to tell a story. Thanks for your feedback!

This is a really good composition, I love the flute in the main theme, then when the strings join it's just awesome. Kinda gives me some legend of zelda vibes, it's really warm and nostalgic. Vaelen Woods really made me feel like I was in a magical little forest. Really amazing work thank you for sharing this gem of an OST!
Adventure Awaits is super whimsical. It is a great intro to the game, I love the whistling instrument that makes it super cozy. Looking for a dream is fun, I like the effects on the guitar here. Forest of the witch was perfect for the scene you describe as well, love that the witch ends up being friends with them :p Starry Night is a relaxing and peaceful end to the journey. I like the influence you took from games like stardew and pokemon, it really shows but is still something totally unique. Thank you for sharing such an awesome OST!
I can hear the influences on this one yet it's totally unique and fitting for the game you describe. Nice work getting 15 finished tracks in a week for an OST, that's impressive! I like the vibes these tracks bring, everything flows together well and there are reoccurring themes throughout to bring it all together.
Okay so I started with the sound cloud version, but I had to see the video on this. This is really cool! I don't know much about hardware and am only just getting into really simple analog and hybrid synths, so all of this is still way above me but It's really awesome to see still. Props and awesome work!
First off, awesome work and congrats on your first Jam submission! This OST is really good work and I find each track works very well together. You have an awesome knack for story telling, and I enjoyed listening to each of these tracks.
Night Sky sets the atmosphere of the game, i love the gentle synth that comes in and continues to build until the drums towards the end. It really helps convey the message of time passing and the star growing and changing to be more vibrant!
Meteor shower/falling stars might be one of my favorites. The wooshing/waves? sound that you use in the beginning adds a really cool element to this one.
Her wish is actually a really awesome part when combined with your story, and the beeping at the end is awesome. Nice working incorporating your story telling into the music, I think that can be a difficult task to achieve with game audio. But this is a perfect example of good story telling through audio.
Blackhole the Bass synth? reverb i feel fits the inside of a blackhole, and the cymbals? That are wooshing past are a nice touch, again a really powerful show of storytelling through music.
Rebirth is a really cool wrap up to this story of a stars life/journey. What is the buzzing sound/instrument that you used that starts right around 1.23? I like it! And when it fades of at the end and pans back and forth is really cool,
The Full length version of Meteor shower is awesome as well! I guess I lied saying meteor shower is my favorite, I like the extended version! The extra part with the guitar? at 1.42 is really chill, but then the change up at 2.16 when the drums come on, I love this part with the synth and was grooving along with it :D
Thank you for submitting and sharing this one, i loved it and would love to see a game like this made! Sorry for so many question marks and mistakes identifying instruments ha I'm not so great at that yet:p
thank you so much!! I know it's a long one so I appreciate everyone taking the time to listen to my OST and provide feedback. for a lot of the panning, i just use an effects subtle stereo and around the head and adjust to my needs, super handy when used alongside automation. I'm not good at mastering and all that so still playing with a lot of those things :p as for the cover art, it is all AI generated. I know a lot of people have their issues with that... How I use it is I will make a really terrible sketch of what I generally want (cause I'm not that great of an artist) and then I'll feed my sketch into it and keep re-rendering until it looks kinda like how I want. Sometimes I'll just give it an abstract color mash up as well like the 5th and 9th track images. as an example this was my original sketch of boat vs sea monster if you want a chuckle:
Wow nice OST! I really love the energy that builds in the main theme right about ~1.40 in. The starbeam Palace sets a great mood for a city/hub where all the vendors for the game reside I dig it :) Lululand (my personal favorite) does an excellent job setting a spacey/moon atmosphere, but then it gets exciting while maintaining the moon vibes. Windy Wisps does a great job for wispy cloud/gas beings an interesting galaxy. I really like the percussion in drylands. The flow is an awesome water theme and again nails exactly the story you describe. Each track is unique in it's own way, but together they flow together to tell a story and a game I totally want to play :) Impressive work!
First and foremost, Congrats on completing your first Jam And with such fun pieces as well! I really like the variety here. I think the first track is really fun, and would suit an adventure game well. The third one really gave me some pokemon dialogue/cut scene vibes for some reason, not sure why, but I really dig it. Thanks for joining the jam, I really enjoyed listening!
Very nice orchestral work! It brings a lot of feeling in the first track with the big swells. The second track really begins to set up for something epic about to coming in the story, then seafaring delivers with excitement and an upbeat tune. Trouble waters brings a nice obstacle to overcome, and where the stars touch the water is a beautiful conclusion. Amazing work and really good story telling through music!
I appreciate the feedback and the taking the time to listen through! This is great insight, and it makes me happy to hear someone sees the story telling side of things how I envisioned :) I do still agree with others some is a bit repetitive, but attempting on mashing a story telling adventure with a non competitive rhythm element was the goal. Where the bosses, environments, and player movement more or less must sync up with rhythms and beats to get through each level, that leans heavily into the story telling element. Thank you!!
I love final fantasy, and I enjoy that you took some inspiration from there. The Title Screen music feels very suitable and sets the stage for the journey ahead. In the second track, the solo piano at the beginning is great, and how it builds into the second part i can envision the dialogue ending and the boss fight beginning. I understand others comments that the boss fight is not "creepy or scary" however, given your approach and inspiration on this OST, I think it fits it perfectly. the final boss is the climax to the whole story and a cinematic grand finale with orchestra is just fitting, especially in the JRPG genre. Very nice composition and an enjoyable listen :) Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to give it a listen! This comment means a lot, especially after hearing your submission (A+ work, each of your tracks are beautiful!) Being a novice, I truly appreciate all the feedback I can get. I'm already excited for the next jam to hear more killer tracks from everyone, and continue to improve the areas I fall short :)
