Description
A journey to make your wish come true!

The story was partially inspired by FFIV and Gurren Lagann. (...and suddenly you're in space!)

Great Voyage: Aboard your small ship, treasure map in hand, you travel to the marked location. (Overworld/Ship theme)

Deck Dance: Upon nearing the marked location (waters getting rougher), your ship gets boarded by pirates... They seem to be guarding something (...or maybe they just have it out for you for no reason). (Battle theme)

Dark Space: As you land roughly on the marked area, the ocean pulls your ship in... Miraculously you are unharmed, however you appear to be in the middle of nowhere, with your surroundings being pitch black. (Area theme/Game Over theme)

Among the Stars: All of a sudden, you find yourself on a strange, empty planet. Looking around, you see your ship some distance behind you, but it seems to have received heavy upgrades, looking completely different asides from your crest on the bow of the ship. (If all the parts were replaced... Does it really still count as the same ship...?) (Area theme)

Hyperspeed Voyage: You board your ship, and start it using the surprisingly easy to understand controls (a single button). It begins to autopilot towards a particular direction at a ridiculous speed... You still have to avoid the asteroids for a whole two minutes though. (Starship theme)

Wishing Well: Your starship stops at a floating well, with colorful pulses of energy flowing in, out and around it. Your instincts tell you to make your wish, and as you do, the color leaves the Wishing Well, indicating your wish has come true. (Credits theme)

Message from the artist:
An OST based on the ocean, space and wishes!

Theme:

Wish upon a star
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
Picture theme inspired me to make an OST centered around the ocean and space, and the title theme inspired me to add a wish direction to the OST (mostly in the last 3 tracks).

All of these are superb! I want to point out “Wishing Well” because it has the exact sound I’d imagine for a  credits/“Thanks for playing”/etc. Those types of songs indicating the journey is finally over always get me choked up haha

Great work!

Woohoo! This is full of adventurous spirit! I love Deck Dance because it absolutely sounds like pirates and also Hyperspeed Voyage because of the energy coming from the breakbeat and the low piano notes bassline. It kinda reminds me of this random song I found once called Sparkle, by Serph. I could listen to a whole soundtrack of music like that. Great job!

Great Voyage: Wow, I am ready to set sail for an adventure! There is a simplicity to this track that allows every instrument to come through clearly while also conveying the sense of epicness of what is about to unfold. I really like the ornamentation in the flute. It is also very refreshing that the melody is tossed around from the flute to the string instrument and the trumpet- it makes this a very loopable track.

Deck Dance: This is a fun pirate-y battle theme. It’s action-filled, but still quite melodic, which I think would work best for a turn-based battle. My favorite part is the B section where you go into the phrygian dominant mode which brings in many exotic colors.

Dark Space: Great job creating space-y ambient vibes here! I think it’s creative that this theme works for both the area theme and as a game over theme (because it definitely would work for both!)

Among the Stars: Even though this is a completely different place(/planet), I think that the use of strings conveys some familiarity and ties the bridge between the ocean and space environments. This is really nice for combining two very different styles into a single OST.

Hyperspeed Voyage: This is a really fun theme! The drums remind me of a couple tracks in the Gamecube game Sonic Heroes and conveys the same fast-paced intensity. The chords played on the piano give a sense of lo-fi chill at the same time which makes me think that even though the ship is moving fast, the main character is still calm and collected as an experienced captain and navigator.

Wishing Well: This is a very space-y track with many magical elements. I particularly like your inclusion of vocals to add to the heavenly atmosphere of this area. Overall this is an eclectic, creative, and well-composed soundtrack. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the in-depth feedback! I probably would have leaned harder into the Phrygian Dominant section in Deck Dance if I had more time haha. Liked the idea of leaning into Phrygian Dominant right off the Andalusian cadence from the previous section

I love Hyperspeed Voyage! It's the perfect song for the scene you want to tell. I can imagine an airship flying around the jrpg's map.

Thanks! That's the exact sound I was going for, glad it worked!

Very effective opening with Great Voyage. Instant nautical feel with the short strings, drums and the flute! Also captured the "starry" part with the high pitched chimes in Among the Stars. Some subtle retro vibes in this soundtrack. I can't really tell what it is, maybe the instrumentation or some of the beats? It definitely fits the story you are telling. Thanks for sharing!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, I used primarily vintage synths for the back half of the OST for a mild retro sound!

Awesome job! I really enjoyed Great Voyage, it perfectly captured the emotions of setting out to sea on a grand adventure with your crew. I could feel the salty breeze blowing by me while listening.

Developer

Thanks, glad I got the mood down right!

Such a cool soundtrack, when I listened to it I hadn't read the description yet, but it pretty much made me think it had something to do with a ship/boat and outer space. My favorite track is definitely Hyperspeed Voyage, not just because of those drums but I also love that chord progression on the piano. Nice job on this!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Glad you like the chords, had a fun time working on the harmonies in that track!

You know how to give a mood, a vibe to places or moments in the game! There were some cool chords progressions and the sounds used are really pleasant and fun overall, I had a kind of hypnotic moment on Among the stars. My favorite one! :)

Thank you for sharing!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you liked the vibe in Among the Stars!

What a creative soundtrack! I absolutely love the genre you took in the first tracks, the style is really well illustrated with really solid melodies!!!
I also love how you shift the genre to more sci-fi from the middle while keeping the melodic motiv from Deck dance in hyperspeed voyage. it really enforces the consistency in a very different genre.

I would definitely love to play a game with a soundtrack like this, Great job!

Developer

Glad you noticed the shared motif in those two tracks (theres a few others but they're less noticeable than that one). Thanks!!!

All I can say is wow lol. Your sounds are very easy on the ears and very well mastered, and all of the tracks really grab your attention, especially Deck Dance and Hyperspeed Voyage! I love everything you've done with your soundtrack, amazing work!
