Story of the game

__________________________

Imagination World is being attacked by reality. You're job is simple: You must eliminate the threat from Imagination World, which you can do with either love or WAR. To truly eliminate the threat you must deal with the bosses of your enemy, things like High School, Your First Job, Taxes, and more....

Imagination Land

__________________________

This is just like the main theme of the game world

Inspiration: I personally believe the music of Mario Games

Method: I had an initial idea for the beginning and just went from there, I played with the bass sound to add some bounciness to the piece.

Genre: Orchestral

Life Attacks

________________________

This is what will play when you're in an EPIC boss battle

Inspiration(s): My Chemical Romance (Just because I tried to make some of the instruments have their sound) and I believe Ultrakill just because of the vibes

Method: I (In a sense) wrote the guitar parts with my own guitar and then everything else was my usual trial and error of what sounds good, I knew from the beginning that I wanted the rock organ (Thank you MCR for the idea XD )

Genre: Rock

I Remember

________________________

This I would say is the end cut scene/end credits song.

Inspiration(s): ???

Method: I used my Midi Piano for this song (Got it recently) and I didn't edit the made MIDI (So if you think it's bad, blame my music improvisation skills, my piano skills, and the fact that I ended up recording pretty much the same song multiple times)

Genre: Best way I can think to call it: Ambient

Message from the artist
I really enjoyed this jam, mainly because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and I hope my music reflects that! Thank you for listening!

I'll echo what some others have said here, there are interesting creative ideas here in these tracks that are really overshadowed by the balance and mixing of the tracks! I think ideally, you want one or two instruments taking center stage at a time, but not to the point that none of the other background elements are inaudible.

Very surprised by the contrast between the tracks! It represents the story you tell very well and because of that I think you did a great job!

Keep going!!!!!

Heh... why does the dog on the cover look like a sock)?

Imagination Land - Cute! Nice opening to the soundtrack! CUTE

Life Attacks - OH I'M SCARED... Good... The guitar has a lot of “dirt” to it. You can either turn it down on its own, or try to pick less dirty effects on it. At the breakdown point on the drums, the toms are too overdriven. Try reducing their low frequencies in the EQ. Allocate each instrument its own positions in the EQ, because the guitar takes up a lot of space and the synthesizer is hard to hear. You have an interesting idea! But try to learn more about the technical side of sound quality (I'm telling you this as a person who has very strong problems with mixing).

I Remember - Heh... and now it's cute and calm again.)

Overall - you have a good idea (I like the idea of the game). The only thing I can advise you is to watch/read guides, make more music about MUST actively participate in such music contests.

I'm sure you will do well! Good luck!

P.S. Sorry if my comment looks very rude and harsh. English is not my first language, lol

Your comment wasn't rude and harsh, it's great constructive criticism. Thank you for the tips and suggestions! Also random note: The dog/sock character is actually what I think the some of the small enemies in the game would look like.

I think this has some neat ideas in it. Choice of instrumentation is pretty good - has an innocence and bounce to it. Arranged well throughout and has some live instrumentation to boot, kudos! I like the disparity in mood between Imagination Land and Life Attacks - both are befitting of their titles. I think the guitar in the latter could do with a little more post-production just to get it to sit in the mix a little more, but all in all it's pretty good!

My personal favorite of the bunch is I Remember - can't beat a nice piano driven track to bring everything to a close! Nice choice of chords in this one, and I do like the offset melody and chord syncopation toward the ending of this one.

Good work all in all, and congrats on getting outside of your comfort zone! Best of luck. :)

"Imagination Land" - opening reminded me a lot of Baroque walking bass lines. The melody doesn't quite fit with the bass/harmony line in places, but it's a very sweet track.

"Life attacks" - seriously crunchy guitar! It overwhelms the rest of the instruments and feels more frantic than the others. Really liked the bass riff though - more of that please!

"I remember" - very sweet and minimalist - I like it a lot!

Really like what you've made! I agree with Jofes and Audermarr on what they said, some more polish on  the production side and these tracks will be even better. Good Job!

The repeating guitars in life attacks were a little too loud compared to the rest of the instruments and there was some clipping happening in I remember.

toning down the volume or trying to EQ them differently would add a lot to the tracks.

The first track is an absolute solid start and it’s very nice, quite nostalgically reminiscent of a vintage kids computer game.

The first seconds of Life Attacks with that organ got me hyped but the arrangement and the quality of the instrumentation doesn’t do justice to the extremely good composition you tried to go for: the guitars sound like drills flattening and burying everything, so I suggest to deal them back a little, EQ them and try different guitar sounds for the most intense parts.

I Remember, instead, while it sounds a little too sparse for my tastes, it certainly has a tender childlike vibe that neatly wraps up the story.

With more polishing work this project could become way more better, keep up!

Thank you for your kind words and criticism! The guitar thing with Life Attacks is noted and I'll work on making that track better. I don't think there's much I can do for my jam submission currently, but when the jam is over I can fix up the stuff that needs to be fixed and release and even better version. So, thank you for the tip too! :D
