Description
The game is essentially a spiritual successor to Wario World, but underwater and with extra Treasure-style platforming included for good measure.
This soundtrack was composed using Famitracker, specifically the Konami VRC7 module.
"Lab Escape" depicts a chase sequence in an underwater lab, running away from one of the bosses as the place is falling apart.
"Drop" is used for the pause menu, and for some of the more... ironic cutscenes.
"Ship" is another boss fight, taking place on the archenemy's pirate ship.
"Victory" plays after completing each level of the game.

Message from the artist
The soundtrack is also meant to contain "The Private Pain of Techno Destructo" and "Gor Gor" from GWAR, corresponding to the first two phases (out of 3) of the final boss, but copyright issues and licensing fees made it impossible to include them here. As for the third phase, I would love to remix the Black Jewel Phase 2 theme, which is exclusive to the Japanese Wario World, but I might run into copyright issues there as well.

It was definitely an atmosphere. I felt the spirit of the old games)

I hadn't read the description yet and the first thing I heard was the victory theme and I was like "This is just Wario World!"

Developer

Was that too on the nose? Did you not like it?

Submitted

No I liked it it's just I hadn't realized that Wario World was what you were going for so I thought you may have accidentally made it sound like that. Until I read the description

Developer

I'm glad you appreciate my tribute.

Nice chip tunes. Lab Escape has great energy that gets me bobbing. WRT mixing there's a high horn or something on this track that is too loud. Drop is a beautiful track, though a little long given the minimal movement. Thanks for making and sharing.

Nice job using a tracker!

I think these tracks could use either motion or instruments, as they sound very bare. The foundation is there, just needs to be filled out a little. Enjoyed my listen.

What's your favorite Scriabin piece?

Developer

Are you referring to my submission, or the composer's pieces?

Submitted

Was left wanting a more full sound but great ideas in there for sure,

I like the tunes (I don't hear Bach inspired themes in video games since the 80s, and you surprised me), but the final mix is unbalanced and clipping hard. A bit too harsh on the ears...

Developer (1 edit)

Are you referring to "Victory"? I think the theme from where I sourced it was too awesome to be contained in FamiTracker. Nevertheless, I appreciate the feedback.
