Description
Very melodic, I wanted something along the lines of Final Fantasy 7’s soundtrack in terms of having a lot of very memorable, “hum-able” melodies juxtaposed with interesting and surprising chord choices. For each track, I tried to incorporate the main theme from what the game’s Prologue theme would be, whether that’s a simple recreation of its chord progression, or (in the case of Eclipse, especially,) a broken, distorted facsimile of it, almost as if its a derision of the hopefulness and optimism induced by the prologue theme. I used a musical notation software called Musescore to write the soundtrack.
Artist comment:
I hope you enjoy the soundtrack! To give a quick summary of the game idea I based the music on, I envisioned a game where you, an astronaut, are stranded on a high-gravity planet with two moons. One moon, ATIV-18, brings about flourishing plants and cool air. The second moon, TOR-40, heats the planet to dangerous levels, and incites animals to leave their shelters and wander the planet’s surface. By the end of the game, the two moons have merged, and the player must take advantage of the low-gravity caused by this to fly the space shuttle out of the planet’s grasp.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
I wanted to try to take the idea of two worlds in a strange but still accurate direction. While I imagined the game would take place on just one planet, the cycle of the planet’s two moons vying for control of the landscape would result in the planet seeming like two separate worlds as each moon’s presence dramatically changes the flora, fauna, and geography of the planet.
I specifically took inspiration from how the first image in the picture theme looks chilly but serene, while the second image looks hellish and almost fiery, which is why I chose to arrange the two location themes (the Sea of Taphos and the Verstervated Ravine) to create a calm-yet-uneasy version, and a dangerous, frightful variant with some motifs and instrumentations shared between both versions.

Love Sea of Taphos! And a lot of music made in such a short time.
Really cool melodies. I like the call and response patterns, too. That section clear fanfare is awesome. Great SNES vibes, those ending arpeggios remind me of FF too. This is a lot of quality music for 2 days. Very nice work!
I always thought the Musescore instruments sounded like Final Fantasy instruments. Good job going all out with it.
And here I thought I went overboard by having three long tracks!
I really liked the sort of 'retro orchestra' sound of the score, it felt very classic Final Fantasy and fit the story you were trying to tell perfectly.
Also props for making such a full soundtrack in such a short space of time!
