Description
Not sure what genre really, but think medieval meets synth.
So I typed up a made up plot, so you can read this here or on the page too!
"What happens when a Time King goes Rouge? He fuses two points in time together in an attempt to collapse the timeline! It's up to you to find your way through both the future and the past to storm the Time King's Castle and put the timeline back to normal!"
The kind of game I think about when playing this is almost like the "Mario and Luigi" games with a hint of "Mother 3" and Zelda because I like that kind of stuff. The castle themes specifically represent the war between the past and the future, and the fusion track is supposed to act as the climax between the two of them. I see each side having puzzles pertaining to the nature side and the Cyber side, with the last stretch having the fusion track for combining the puzzles together, creating new puzzles to solve!
I used Logic Pro to create each soundtrack, and each one was just a stream of thoughts barfed onto my computer! Least to say, its the most creative I can be when rushing for music!
Artist comment:
I am proud of the work I've done, even if it is only 2 or 3 tracks. This is my dream ya' know? I gotta put myself out there and show the world what I got!
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The main idea was timelines overlapping each other. A world with primitive yet medieval weaponry being forced to combine with a world with advanced technology of the future!

I liked the way you set this up with a distinct gameplay and storyline ideas to play off of. "Nature Side" has a very epic feel with the horn section and the xylophone-like instrument helped give some variety. The synths in "Cyber Side" have a nice expansive feel to them which gave that track a more pensive tone that contrasted well with "Nature Side." Hearing all these parts mixing together in "Fusion" created some cool moments. The first three tracks are definitely very snare-heavy -- would have liked to see some buildups and breakdowns in the drum section because the repetition created an anxious feeling of anticipation that was never answered with a true climax. Maybe that was intentional because of how you envisioned these tracks fitting into a particular section of gameplay, but just throwing it out there as a suggestion. "A Resting Area!" is a fun piece, as well, and I could definitely see how that might work in a game as giving the player an aural break from the action. Overall, well-produced and nice work!
Great main theme, and nice idea of creating interactive tracks! Your plot story is original
very good use of leitmotif and good composition! I second that the percussion could have varied between tracks though.
A lot of great dynamics at play here, your compositional skills are phenomenal!! You were able to do so much with that little bassline, I can easily see this in an actual game. With the exception of the snare rolls, it's very easy on the ears. I think simply adding some more variance/cutting the snare entirely from some parts would greatly enhance the overall feel of each world. And perhaps playing with the structure of the fusion track, while keeping certain flourishes from the cyber/nature world, would add some more intrigue. It gets a tad repetitive, but that's just a personal quibble! Overall, LOVE what you've got here.
P.S. BIG cranky stank fan. Tombo Combo got me groovin like none other fr fr
Remarkable work! Love the mood and the change of style in the final track.
This was cool, I think there's a lot of good ideas here!
My one note is the lack of variation in percussion. One constant snare march roll for 12 minutes got a bit stale... I think shortening the tracks by a few bars per section or varying up the percussion would help a lot! Even just breaking a bit and building back up. Varying them between songs would have helped solidify the separate worlds even further, too! Marching worked well for nature world but it would have been really cool to hear some more modern or futuristic percussion in the cyber version.
I think the way you weaved things together in the final track worked really well, and I'm guessing from listening and looking at your screenshots that you composed one final song and then broke it down and exported it as the two, which I think was really clever and certainly the final song works together BEAUTIFULLY, but I think the two individual songs could have been pushed even further apart from each other. Strong memorable melodies/motifs are all you needed I think to invoke the individual worlds, and you definitely have those!
Also thanking you for bothering to come up with a game concept, too many entries didn't do that 😭
This is really good! I enjoy the juxtaposition of the Nature and Cyber sides, and how they come together perfectly! It really gives off final dungeon vibes, especially the Fusion track. Great job!
You worked hard!! congratulations on the work
Brownie points for fellow Logic Pro X :D
I'm definitely catching a Chrono Trigger vibe here, especially with the Castle Between Worlds (Fusion)!! Well done! Nice reverb in the mix too, again especially the Fusion one. I can definitely catch the cyber and nature differences, the cyber heavy use of synth and nature's use of orchestral, and when they are fusioned. Well done! Very smart! :)
The nature and cyber track both sound really great individually but when they combine in the fusion track it sounds really good. It definitely fits your story and I can definitely see two timelines overlapping. Great job!
