Description
The first track, Coffee Office, is a detective's office, and is supposed to give sort of cutesy noir vibes. The second track is Aces Have It, and is supposed to be the other world the detective goes to, a digital landscape. The idea behind the game is the dullness of reality against the synthetic joy of the digital world. A detective who can go into a sort of digital landscape to work on cases.

Artist comment:
This is my first time ever writing music or playing with a DAW. I just wanted to see what I was capable of, and I'm pretty happy with the results! I'm excited to learn more and get even better :)

Theme:

Two Worlds

How does it fit the theme?
The detective in this story is one that goes between a digital and tangible world. The songs I created are based in those two worlds, and I think do a good job of sounding like they're from the same game but are two vastly different places(hopefully!)

Thanks everyone for your kind words and feedback. Going to work on fixing some of my weaknesses in some new music ideas that I have in my head. Here's to hoping it works out. <3

the bass really gives the detective feel!

These are really great, especially for your first time working with daws!! I hope that you'll continue to compose music because I love how these pieces already have such a character to them
Wonderful, wonderful job💖

Nice job contrasting the bland office world with the more exciting digital world!

I personally found the accordion chords in CoffeeOffice to be a little grating-- kind of like an alarm that someone won't turn off.  I would have liked a softer sound for that. But the walking string bass works well for that old noir feeling you're going for.

Great intro for Aces Have It; it's a clear transition from the drab office world to the vibrant digital world.  I would have liked more variety in the accompaniment here; that repeating arpeggio pattern is very short, so it becomes a little monotonous, instead of being exciting and fun.

Good job for your first time!

For your first time writing music or using a DAW, this pretty good! Something I would keep in mind going forward is considering how to add variety to your tracks. Things like changing rhythmic patterns, chord progressions, melodies or instruments for example can help a track a track feel a lot more dynamic or give it a sense of progression and avoid sounding repetitive.

As for the tracks themselves, I really enjoyed Coffee Office. I feel like you captured a lofi noir vibe well with the bassline and the static effect.

Overall pretty good for the first time using a DAW! There are some good melodic ideas there. I suggest you try to expand them a little. Also play around with the dynamics and relative intensity of each instrument. It is a steep learning curve but you are definitely on the right track by participating here!
