The title of the original song(s)
Homelands (Credits Theme) from Shatter (2009).

Is this a cover, tribute, or medley?

Cover

Description
Chiptune rendition of the credits theme from Shatter - a tribute but also in a different style.

Chiptune written using a fork of FamiTracker, Dn-Ft.

Shatter was the first soundtrack that I completely recreated in an 8-bit style so it felt like "coming home" when it came to revisiting this track over eight years later. It's always held close to my heart and represents the new changes and new beginnings that are becoming part of my life, as well as a lot of others around me.

Nice arrangement, this sounds really natural in 8-bit form. Never played the original game but after hearing the original song, this is a good adaptation

Thanks! Yeah, the original composer's choice of instrumentation leads nicely towards a "demake" heh!

Really really nice track! I loved the 8-bit percussions you used and sound choices overall!

Thanks! Yeah, one of my top 3 soundtracks of all time for me.

There's a lot of sounds and instruments you create here that I dream of being able to learn someday!

Some of the foley SFX (percussion?) felt a little loud compared to the melody that I was trying to hear more clearly, but I loved that melody.

I wish I had heard of the original, if you have the time could you link me to it?

Developer

Yeah, after re-listening it does seem a bit overbearing - thanks for the feedback!

Original is here:

Nicely done, has a more peaceful vibe than the original.
