Message from the artist
It took me about 2 hours to get this piece to sound exactly the same backwards and forwards, but it was very fun to do so!

Also, for anyone wondering, here are the lyrics:
"rorriM, Mirror" :D

Difficulty

C (Super Challenge)

Make something that has elements that can be listened to both backwards and forwards.

They be vibing!

Liked how you made kick drum kinda work in the middle part. Eerie vocals sound cool too.
But, pulse arpeggio starting at 1:18 feels a lil out of place though.

Developer

Thank you for the criticism!
It definitely is a bit out of place with the rest of the melody, but I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I kept it in! :D

Really nice track, nice usage of C.

Developer

Thanks! :D

This is one of the first songs on this jam where I truely believe the C difficulty is justified. The second half fitted nicely and was not jus added on to fit the definition. Really reminds me of some work from Akuma Kira. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you! :D
I don't think I've heard any tracks from Akuma Kira, so I'll definitely give them a listen!

The synths were excellently done with how they seemingly change earlier than you would expect which gives the piece a nice driving feeling.

I think maybe the melodic instrument sounded a tad out of place however. Strangely it sounded perfectly fine when reversed which is weird because its usually the opposite way.

Still a really cool song and a great entry!

Developer

Thank you! :)
The melodic instrument is actually a piano sample with a really short release since I couldn't think of anything else to use, but thank you for your criticism! I appreciate it :D

Well done! I like the abrupt chord changes in the reverse, it's a cool effect. It somehow sounds retro to me and modern at the same time. What kind of game where you imagining here?

Developer

Thanks! :)
I wasn't really imagining any game when making the song since I jumped right into it, but after finishing the song I imagined a sort-of platformer game where you could jump through mirrors and get into other "dimensions."
I'd probably have to play around with the concept further before being able to say more, but that's pretty much the basic idea I had!
