Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes
Tell us about your game!
The concept of the game is you control a spaceship with an auto turret to destroy space debris and when you destroy space debris it breaks off into smaller parts, but the catch is your auto-targeting system can't target the small bits so they start to "spread" around getting in your way
Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes
Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes
Extra Notes
Lost my job mid jam so I did not get to work on it as much as I wanted (Doordash is a lifesaver as long as my car is up for the task lol :P) so I submitted the project with loads of time left but updated as I went.

I really had a lot of fun with this! The CRT was too much but after reading some comments and seeing you added a slider, that put me right where I wanted to be - CRT on but very little to no screen distortion. The retro vibe with retro inspiration in Asteroids was a great fit for me as a player.
I have no idea if this was intentional or not, but the acceleration SFX stood out to me immediately in that the pitch of it very similarly matched the music at both bottom and top acceleration, and I thought that was really cool. The music and SFX in general were awesome to me.
Loved the Vampire Survivors flair of upgrading by chance (does that game type have a genre yet? haha) and I immediately saw myself in that familiar gameplay loop and desire to keep leveling up to be more powerful. I played this probably about 6 times or so, and I think the only thing I really found my self struggling with was how easy it was to lose target lock on what you're shooting at. I couldn't see anything that gave reference to if I was going to lose lock, and it seemed that whenever I upgraded I lost lock, and that was frustrating when I was trying to avoid the enemies that follow you.
All in all though, the polish on this is insane! Really looking forward to seeing more of what you do!
PS: Congrats on getting another job and being able to polish this like you did while in such an awkward stage in life. Really great work :)
I really appreciate that! Thanks so much for your feedback! Im hoping to fix the major bugs on this project after the game jam finished and maybe add some more content but all in all it was very fun to make. I found my self ironically playing it for fun when I would go to test for bugs lol so I knew I had something at least decent.
Oh yeah, definitely the mark of something good! Best of luck buddy :)
Very polished game!
Really digging the visuals, the CRT style fits the game super well!
The upgrade system is really fun and I greatly enjoy that it has randomized tiers of upgrades, makes it all the more exciting when you see a sparkly rainbow one popping up!
Great work!
This is great, at some point it gets impossible. Would be cool if there was a shield system
Yeah I had plans to add cool abilities to help get further and further but I had to make a decision for the game jam to fix bugs and polish lol XD
AWESOME GRAPHICS, loved the TV effect. Kind of hard to focus on where my ship is, where it's facing, and where it's moving, all at once.
Thank you! I recently updated the game to include a slider to minimize the effect or turn it off completely! Give it a try now with the new option you might like it more!
Great graphics and fun gameplay. I like the idea of the ship aiming for you, but I found it hard to get it to focus on one target when the difficulty ramped up.
Yea that was the idea with the concept to help make it a bit more chaotic withe the spreading theme :P but yea I committed to it XD
It's a great game! But I feel like I'm not doing much, I don't feel like I'm in power of the game... meaning the turning and the acceleration. However the polish is great, and the simplistic graphics is awesome and fits the game. The stars and planets in the background is definitely a nice touch. I think something you could work on, is if you fix the other problem I mentioned.. I will understand the physics earlier, and feel smart about it, so you just need more control. And then everything else with the upgrading and the obvious task to do is perfect.
Yea when you start a new run your ship is a bit weak on agility and the reason for that is to give purpose to that upgrade but yea I agree game could use a balancing pass for sure
This is remarkable polished ^_^ Looks and feels great!
Thank you!
I really like the visuals of the game, try adding some sound effects and music and i think the game will be fine.
I will try to make an update to it before the jam ends if I can manage to find the time for sure.
Your game is definitely visually unique!
Sorry about your job loss, I hope that with your skills, you'll be able to find a new one soon!
