  • Cool use of grayscale and colors simultaneously. It was a nice touch in order to represent not only the play-style but a kind of simplistic way to showcase the use of the theme

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
We have made a horde survival game around the concept of spreading color in an otherwise grayscale world, which has been taken over by aliens called the Grayliens. A longer and more comedic version of the full lore can be found on the project's Itch.io page and we encourage you to read it if you find the time!

The game in its current state features two different weapons to cycle between and the ability to unlock and switch through colors during the run. Each weapon leaves its selected color on the ground and paints a unique and fun picture throughout the run which gets shown to the player in a zoomed out shot at the end if they win the game. The game takes 5 minutes to play from start to end at the moment and has two basic enemies and a boss.

Controls are detailed in game as we made a dedicated help menu for it, so make sure to give that a look, but most prompts can also be found on the screen during gameplay.

Our GDD has gotten quite detailed and if you are interested in more detailed information about the game like things that didn't make the MVP among others, please give it a read!

We have made it our goal to make every asset in the game ourselves and are happy to report that we achieved that! All art assets, sound effects, music and code have been handcrafted by the team from scratch and no external resources were used. We hope you enjoy them!

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

I love the setting, it's very compelling and fun! Seeing colours left behind is satisfying, it's a very cool visual experience that adds an additional layer of interest to the survivor genre.

It was fun trying to survive while also having fun trying to spread color around! Could definitely tell the gameplay took inspiration from Vampire Survivors and it felt good! I think it was really fun how so much effort was put into the setting and lore. Good job!

Thank you very much for your nice comment! We are glad you enjoy the setting and lore for the silliness they are! :)

Curse those flying Grayliens... they get me every time I am trying to choose a new color. I love the concept of spreading colors and although I am terrible at these types of games, it was a ton of fun. I hope you keep developing this game as I would love to see how it evolves. Great work!

P.S. Everyone should read the 'full-lore' on the game page, it's definitely worth it!

Thank you very much for playing and enjoying our game! We plan on ironing out current balance issues and bugs and hopefully to also realize some of the ideas we had and couldn’t fit into the MVP.

Glad you enjoyed the lore as well! It was a silly 10 minute writeup, but we are glad it found an audience! :)
