  • There's some minor control bugs and some parts of Steve can fall over which is pretty comical, other than that this game is pretty solid! Well done!

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
A narrative adventure about a little worm in a big world just tryna' make a buckeroo or two deliverin' vittles. An average day turns into more than he bargained for when he learns the fate of an entire species rests on his shoulders.

Use [WASD] and [Space] to control the cowpoke's wagon. Once acquired, use [Left Shift] to spray Roundemup(TM) on the infected trees before Moon Valley falls prey to the Blight.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?

Definitely think this game has potential! Gameplay is very simple in concept, but having things not tip over takes a bit of trial and error. My only criticism really is just the UI. It was a bit small on my screen so I didn't even really notice it at first. Excited to see how you take this story and what else you plan on adding!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m glad we received feedback on the UI because both of us were like: “Yup, looks good. Next!” ha.

Thank you, we can’t wait to expand in future releases!

Very charming game, I am now invested in the deep lore of the intergalactic stuggles of these sasquatches, which im pretty sure is a brand new sentance hahaha

Also using your own engine is wild, extremely impressive!!

Developer

Thank you so much! We are too, we’ve got lots of worlds unfolding for the duo to explore in future releases.

Looks really interesting, but unfortunately immediately crashed when run on Linux under Proton Experimental. Thinking this was a proton issue, I switched to a Windows laptop (Win 11, a few years old but up to date with patches) and the same thing happened. Sorry, best of luck with your submission!

Developer(+1)

No problem Basie - I saw how much work you put into reviewing each person’s game and was really moved by that as well as the fact that when you couldn’t get ours to work on Proton you tried again on Windows.

We are still working out some kinks with Vulkan and don’t have a great way to broadly test across many GPUs/devices.

Thanks for giving it so much effort!!

No worries, let me know if you want to do some more testing! For reference, the Linux box is an i5 13600K and a 7900XTX.

Love this game's grungy look, makes me think of the best from the PS2. Also the music is excellent. I also like the controls of the worm thing. It's rough and makes me feel like I'm piloting something way past it's prime, and it's way cool.
One issue I had that was kind of a deal breaker was how small the font showed up on my screen. I have a rather large screen, and there was no way to resize the window or the fonts (as far as I could find) and it made it so that there was a lot of dialogue that I had a hard time reading, and thus understanding what I was doing.

Other than that this was a cool little experience. It did a great job of whisking me away to these woods. The music was perfect and I cannot praise the controls enough. They're just clunky enough without being frustrating, and when paired with the sounds of the little worm guy, it's just expertly crafted.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! Glad you liked it! Apologies for the dialog - definitely a substantial part of the game, and it’d be a bummer to not be able to read it. We’ll have to make sure to add options to adjust in the future. Glad you liked the controls/movement, too! We reworked them several times to try and get them right and we’re happy to hear it paid off. Thanks again!

Rip Wooly Wilby. Tried a few times, but just couldn't get around fast enough it felt like to outrun the spread. But dang! Wow running your own engine for this one. If this is a demo for it I think it's a great test. Loved the art and style, the sound fx and music. Neat idea! Cool engine

Developer

Wooly Wilby will be missed dearly - he was a friend to all. Sorry you didn’t get to the ending. We debated about the difficulty. One of us thought it was too hard, the other too easy. We’ll have to enlist more playtesters for the next one. Thanks for checking it out, and thanks for the feedback!
