Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • The game has a clever mechanic of using WASD and arrow keys to frustrate the brain like rubbing your head and patting your belly at the same time. However, some issues with fluidity of movement add an additional unwanted frustration. The art is lit the bass line goes hard keep making things :D

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
It's a simple top down game, where you use both WASD and Arrow Keys at the same time to collect fruit-objects. You score points by returning them to the monsters head. There is a 2minute roundtime and a leaderboard. Besides the difficulty of using both hands to do different stuff, it's quite easy :)

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Extra Notes
I only started to learn programming after christmas, thanks to Thors encouragement to just do shit ;) I had great fun the last 2 weeks and got way further than I expected.

Very nice idea. Some issues with the hands being a little unresponsive, but not a big deal. I realized I’m quite bad at controlling two hands at once!

It reminds me of something you would see on a flash page in like 2005 and I like it! I do admit that I don't like the controls, because the hands seem to be stuck o nalmost anything, but the art and the music make up for it. Good work!

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

The getting stuck probably comes from the controls not accepting 2 inputs at once (like going diagonal), so a hand stops moving until the 2nd key is released.  Give it a try, if this solves the issue for you. :)

Cool concept, sadly my brain cant do it with keys, dual stickl controller now thatd be more fun.

Seems if you go right then go  down or up, it moves you a bit then stops, some kinda timing for the keys going on i imagine.

Now go make a different thing, the more you learn the more options you will get....keep going....

This is a quirky concept that has a lot of potential! I want to take the time to congratulate you on bringing this to the finish line, especially for your first time coding! I found your art charming and weird (in a good way) and I spent a good amount of time playing.

After playing, I realized that I am absolutely terrible at moving two things at once. But I did have the best luck moving both hands together, side by side, at the same time. That allowed me to be a little more efficient. I also tried alternating between hands -- one goes out to grab fruit, while the other hand brings back fruit that has already been grabbed.

All in all, I think you did a great job, Mexalen! Go make more stuff!
