- Despite its simple nature this game has amazing visuals and does a really good job of storytelling. The theme is implemented beautifully as well. Nice job!

Phoebe's Phenomenal Phials is a game about a plucky witch who is intent on brewing potions which she loves to use for various witchly purposes.
However, every time Phoebe attempts to brew her potion, something goes wrong and an explosion of magic blankets her swamp. Because of her mistake, the ever responsible Phoebe must clean up the swamp after each attempt, battling and subduing the wacky results of her magical mishaps. Phoebe can use a combination of throwing some of her other expired potions at the creatures she unwittingly created in order to clean up the swamp along with good old fashioned clobbering.
The game is a 2.5d side-scrolling action game with cartoon graphics and a lighthearted tone. It is usable on Windows PC with keyboard or gamepad. Playing as Phoebe, you can move, jump, throw potions, and swing at enemies in combat. The level completes when you defeat the boss.
To emphasize the 'It's Spreading' theme, the ominous purple cloud from the disaster is shown moving slowly and transforming normal woodland creatures into monsters you must defeat.
The game will primarily revolve around the player’s ability to defeat enemies by throwing potions at them and swinging to clobber them. Phoebe’s player will be able to defeat a variety of enemies but we want to have emphasis on her potion throwing ability as a staple of her craft.

Lovely art style and nice music! The character and monster designs are very cute and fun!
I've encountered a bug: when I died the pop up menu didn't lead me to the Start menu or do anything else.
Also the movement speed seems a bit slow. Maybe I didn't find how to change it, but I'd love to be able to control the movement with the arrow keys because moving with WASD and then using Z and X for attacks is a bit uncomfortable.
Overall a very cute game, a lot of work went into this. Good luck team! <3
P.S. I love the toads.
I really like the music and animations. The background especially was cool without being obtrusive. The only animation thing I wasn't fond of was how the character's face doesn't change when you die. You just kinda flop over still smiling.
The gameplay is decent when I was trying to play, but I could also just outrun everything. If the flying dogs were a little faster, or if they didn't stop moving when they attacked, I think that would be a big help.
Yeah there wasn't a lot of time for combat balancing. It could use some work with move speeds, animation lengths, and stuff like that. The different faces were given to me by the artist but I didn't have time to put them in unfortunately. I'm glad you liked it anyhow!
I think the art and animations in this game were insane for a 2 week time frame. Very well done! If you do choose to continue this game I have one small suggestion. Because the gameplay is centered around combat I think it could help to have the movement of the character not freeze when throwing potions or punching. Generally that makes a game feel a bit more dynamic, perhaps you can separate the animations between the upper body and lower body of the MC to achieve that. Well done!
I agree that moving while doing actions is smoother and used in many games, it is a good thing to look at for the future if there are more additions.
Love the art of the game and the animations, throwing mechanic felt really good! Ran into an issue first run where I outran all the enemies and ran forever hahaha
Ah yeah probably would have been good to add a right boundary. Thanks for playing!
The art is top quality. I loved the aesthetic. The gameplay was simplistic and I couldn't make it very far due to the enemy density. Over all this game has a solid visually appeal and could make for a wonderful setting for future games.
Thanks for playing!
