  • GDD seems so amazing until I noticed the development timeline didnt updated their status, but did filled out their date. To me, that is important because it could leave a bad first impression of "what is the current state of each features?" That is a down-point, but your GDD leaves a strong good impression. Had it been updated properly, it would leave a overwhelmed strong first impression! The main menu seems amazing however I would love to see option menu (for rebinding keys, audio control etc) or exit button. But I can totally see the main menu being animated! The window name is funny, but do keep in mind that the window name should always matched with the game name. That is just a good software etiquette. The games seems laggy, but that is possible due to my virtual machine setup. It did run smooth at times. However I did managed to beat the game on first try in red mono color, until I realized you could change colors after reading the doc. I feels like up and down for select color is a weird design choice. Some people prefer to use up button to jump and down button for control the landing due to accessibility. So perhaps rebind the color selection to Q and E could resolved this? An tutorial could help a lot. It could also explain how the colors works! Pause menu's Quit game button doesnt work. When the ferret changed colors, sometimes it just glitched. Here is something cursed; a red ferret looks like a sausage when it jumps...

Really great base for what seems to be a very ambitious platformer than I hope you guys work on! After reading the GDD man I really wish you guys had got in even some of those things because as is the game functions but is rather barebones, and a version with what you guys have suggested would be really cool.

I will also say that when it comes to finishing the level, maybe when they've reached the "completion" thresh-hold, pan over the whole level to show what a colourful marvel the player has created, just a suggestion though I think it'd be cool.

All in all, really cool game and I do really hope you guys keep working on this.

Pretty cute! Loved spreading the paint around!

Really adorable! I super wanted all the stuff in the GDD to be in here, it feels like there's something incredibly fun JUST around the corner!

Thanks!  Hopefully one day it will be :)

Love how the paint seeps through the tileset. Simple and cozy, well till the ferret dies lmao. Sounds like you did positional audio for the background music.

Thanks so much for playing!

Love the music - something about it's simplicity just tickles me.

The mechanics are solid - spreading color around by traversing the level is so satisfying. And the art is *chefs kiss*

The only thing that confused me a little was that the music and ambiance faded away as I walked away from the starting position? Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it's the only thing that seemed like it may be off.

I very much enjoyed this one - great work!

music fading wasn't intentional, one of the last things we did

Proud to have worked on this, pressing down causes the ferret to change the color of paint it spreads, the goal is to cover over 80% of the level in paint of any color.  Hope you enjoy playing!
