- When trying to put the game in full screen, it is really off-centered so I'm unable to see the game in that way. Even after attempting to understand the instructions through the tutorial, the gameplay didn't make much sense in terms of what I was really supposed to be doing; so I was struggling to see how this linked back to the overall theme

Thank you so much for putting this on! None of us have done something like this before and we all grew tremendously. An absolute highlight of an already wonderful life for me!

Really cool concept! I'm usually not a card game guy, but I enjoyed this and would be interested to see what an expanded version could look like!
Thanks so much! We're so glad you enjoyed your time. We would also love to see an expanded version!
Finally got time to play this. I always find it funny when you play as "the bad guy".
Very interesting premise and actually got me thinking before making a move in more than one ocassion. Pretty awesome stuff.
Though after checking the tutorial and managing to complete the game; I still dont know what most of the icons on the cards and shop mean. Wouldn't mind some more "simplistic" explanation for little dumb me (or maybe just some pop up text with info).
Thank you so much for playing our game! We're pretty happy with what is a first time attempt from nearly all of us.
We agree with you on the learnability of it all. There's lots of that polish we just didn't quite get around to, but would be at the top of our list if we were to continue development!
Hey, great job. This is an extremely good entry. I was thinking a lot about how to handle the different issues. I think personally, a little more clarity with how much damage is necessary to stop an enemy, and clarity in how much health you have left would be good (I also could have missed something). I think making it more apparent that you have cards you could purchase for evolution, like.... I almost want to say you should make it pop up automatically every so many turns, because it's easy to get into the swing of things and forget. But seriously, overall? Fantastic premise, huge amount of promise.
Thanks so much for giving it a play and for your thoughtful feedback!
I love so much of what you're saying.
This is a awesome effort from some fresh developers. Some of the card abilities/costs were not immediately clear to me, but the gameplay played out intuitively regardless. I like where this is going. Great job.
Thank you so much, Colton! I may not use profanity, but I think you're neat, and I believe you made something of value.
I'm honored you played our game.
Hi, I really appreciate those words. "You may not use profanity" -- sorry is this in reference to something? I'm not sure what to take from there.
Hah, sorry for the confusion. I was referring to a certain spotlight of your game today from one of the judges.
oh, LOL, right.
Great game. At first glance it feels like a handful but once you start to play you get a hang of it. The colors are little everywhere so maybe a color pallet that is little bit more "kinder" and not that strong colors.
Other than that, I think you did great for 2 weeks, keep it up!
Thank you so much for playing and giving your thoughts, Terzom! I definitely agree. Astoundingly, this was our artists' first time doing this. I'm amazingly proud of the growth they experienced over the jam.
it was really fun watching you on stream building this game! the art on the cards is SUPER cool... one piece of feedback is that the card text is a little hard to read, maybe in future game adding a zoom in feature for cards could help.. plus I want to see that cool card up more up close! - Corey
Thank you for hanging out and playing our game, Corey! I definitely agree with all of your points, thank you for sharing!
I enjoyed playing this game nice no stress casual fun....keep it up...
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The team will love to hear you had fun.
Awesome game! Loved the art and the deck/tower defense mechanics. Keep working on it for sure!
Thanks so much! The team will love to hear you enjoyed it.
This a a pretty well thought out deck building game. I really liked the art and the somewhat ghastly theme. Well done.
Thank you! I've passed your feedback onto the team. Can you believe that was our artists' first time doing pixel art? I sure couldn't!
Interesting combination of game mechanics/genres, well done! Also, great work on the cards for such a short jam.
Thank you so much! I've passed your feedback onto the team. We sure learned a lot building it!
I like both of the genres you combined for this game--it was fun to play through!
I particularly enjoyed feeling like I was both defending myself and spreading out to take over the land. The final card and autoplay to finish was exciting, too!
As for things to polish, the tutorial was very helpful, but it still took some mental strain to get the mechanics figured out. A dedicated composer would be nice, too, to make the audio experience more pleasant and less repetitive.
Overall, this was unique, on theme, and an enjoyable experience. Great job! :)
Thanks so much for playing and sharing your thoughts! I couldn't agree more with your constructive criticism, thanks for sharing! I hope you had a fun time :)
Those SFX are hilarious!
I was able to build out my base quite big and cover most of the map with my poop. Wasn't quite sure of the mechanics for most of it though even though I went through the tutorial. The tutorial is really long and confusing. Maybe also adding an "inspect card" function to bring up the card so you can see it clearer would be good. I played it windowed in my browser and in that case the text was quite small. Gurgly poopy fun!
Great points all around! A UX overhaul is on the top of our list. We got so focused on actually building it that the UX kind of took a back seat and we didn't realize what state it had gotten to until the very end haha. In case anyone is coming across this, the goal of the game is to play the Consume Everything card! It is always available in the Evolve store and once played it takes 50 turns. If you're still alive at the end, you consume the island and win!
