  • I like the art style and the story you've set up! unfortunately the game has no tutorial so the gameplay is hard to figure out, other than that the game looks really nice and y'all should be proud of yourselves!
  • Though personally neither my type of game nor artistic style, I enjoyed playing the game. I think what you wanted to achieve resulted in a good baseline game. It played good, the game loop worked, though at the start it was a bit difficult to realise you needed to scroll up on the fields to get a better look at the enemies. Would definitely recommend to scale it to a different size. I think it is one of the better adoptions of the theme I have encounter, so full thumbs up. I think works well as a reverse TD game and I haven't seen any similar games. As I said at the beginning, not my style of game, but I think the chosen style is coherent across the game. I maybe would work on some colors for the menu, to make the distinctions better also for gameplay at a later date the menu screen could be less overloaded with different menus. Make them appear by clicking on an alchemy table or cauldron or something.

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
Full mouse controls, but escape button opens settings/load menu. Tutorial in game should explain things, but just in case: Kind of a reverse tower defense, send minions along a track to acquire loot, make stronger minions with the loot you collect, refine materials to turn in quests to advance story.

Extra Notes
Game Scales incorrectly in firefox due to game being loaded as a resizable window. Game is intended to run specifically at 1280x720, if it's forcing full screen, try changing resolution. Sorry :x

Super charming game with beautiful artwork. The colors and character designs are absolutely wonderful. I love the creative idea of a reverse tower defense as one of the main parts of the game play loop (unfortunately I wasn't very good at it lol). Will you be turning this into a full release after the jam?

Developer

I'm still somewhat undecided. I rather enjoyed working on it. I'm likely to at least clean up bugs and add a few features, whether or not I make it a full release depends on how it feels after more work has been put into it, as well as what my teammates think. I really appreciate your comment and I'll make sure our artist sees it!

Oh my, I love the color palette choice and character designs!
The concept art on your Game Dev Doc is SO cute.

The concept behind the game is interesting and I had a good time just sending little elementals out to gather ingredients. Overall I really enjoyed the tone of the game and especially the overall character designs and world they live in!
