- Game plays great, smooth platforming. Well made, I'd love to play more! I do struggle to see how this really fits into the theme of the Game Jam beyond the superficial. She could be a witch, ninja, anything really.

Aurelia is a 2D action platformer, combining the fast momentum-based movement of popular speedrun games, with the boss fights of a Metroidvania.
Follow Aurelia, a young aspiring alchemist, and Whispopher, a glowwyrm with a nose for sniffing out the best potions and materials (or so he says), as they traverse towers and dungeons and more on their quest for acquiring the lost recipes needed to defeat an unknown foe.
The controls are listed in game and on the itch.io description (which is where the GDD is). Also, we have a lot of cool info and gifs in the Game Design Document, so you'll find everything more in depth there!

Wow! Nice game! The graphics (especially the MC) is beautiful, the level are well thought out and polished, the controls are smooth, the final sequence is satisfying. And there is the extra optional challenge rooms too. That's quite some flourish that you seldom see. Good job!
For a bit of nitpick I'd say the timing of the gem dash is a bit unclear, probably need some more visuals to that. The jump is a little bit floaty, which is okay for me, but do feels a bit punishing when you see the character slowing floating do to her doom, which is just sad. Sometimes I mistook the background as a platform and died a few time, which felt a bit cheated.
But these are just small things anyway, you've done a very good job in making this game! Well done!
Great visuals, interesting mechanics and thoughtful level design. The tutorial guided me nicely and I had a lot of fun playing it. Great Job!
Excellent game here! Everything feels very polished, including the art mechanics, UI and gameplay. I really liked the design of the introduction to the mechanics, where you learn them one after another through out the levels. I appreciated the small secrets and puzzles to find extra potions that are missable, which helps remove some of the linearity of the game.
The mechanics flow into each other quite nicely, and I really appreciate the checkpoints, which helps encourage learning and experimenting with the movement.
Fantastic submission, great job guys!
Very well done! The art and music are great. Hooking your staff on the hooks is a pretty unique mechanic.
Really wish it had controller support.
Oh the number of times I died to get that potion bottle in that one bonus room 💀 Cute art, fun & challenging mechanics, and great music - absolutely love it! 😄
Really really nice art. The character and her animations are so good. The mechanics and levels are quite fun as well! Overall really great work, some challenging parts for sure. I could totally see this being made into a full game!
cool mechanic on the green crystals even if the jump feels a little too floaty for me. to be honest i would love to be able to put down the volume but ESC is overlap when you are on full screen and it messed up my mind haha congratz on the art!
Feels very floaty, with the slow acceleration, and slow/long-airtime linear jump.
The slow acceleration made me fall multiple times, on the shoot box then jump up part, where I wanted to jump up, but needed to accelerate on-ground first.
I had a few stutters/temporary hangs for it to load stuff, which was a bit unfortunate, and sometimes resulted in my death. There was less of this after a bit though.
I appreciated the split levels so a progress reset didn’t lose too much.
There’s a lot of interesting and good things in here. Mechanics, graphics, character design.
