  • Love the art style you have here. the gameplay feels good, but I wish the speed buff felt more meaningful. I personally think turning down the player speed a smidge would do a lot here to increase the impact of it. as for the theme I think it was an interesting way of applying it with a "haunted" weapon. maybe some future dialogue from it will help bring it more to life?

This was really fun! The art is excellent, felt very polished. The sound effects were also amazing, added a lot of immersion to the gameplay, and the music really built the atmosphere. It was well-lit, not hard to see what was going on but the moodiness of the slight shadows was nice. The animations were ace, really gave the attacks a feeling of oomph.

The balancing felt good for the length of the game, I enjoyed getting to see how all the upgrades felt. I also felt like it was a good length, as I got to explore the gameplay loop a couple times without feeling like there were too many waves of enemies, definitely left me wanting more, which is great!

The theme was really present and well-explored, being able to slay your last host after leaving them made it clear how inconsequential they were to you in the quest for freedom! At the same time, keeping the skills you learned from the previous hosts was cool, it made me excited to find a new host as I was gaining new things without losing anything.

I agree with the other comments saying that the directionality of where your character was facing/would swing was a lil' hard to intuit, although it didn't really affect my enjoyment in the short run. Other than that, everything else felt super clean, and easy to pick up.

Felt like a really solid foundation, that could definitely be expanded to include new hosts or enemies! What will the Blight Blade do upon escaping the tomb, I wonder?? Great entry, awesome work by the whole team!

Game is pretty fun! I liked the concept of possessing others to gain more power. I like as you get more power it just becomes a came walk, giving the player this idea that your crazy powerful now. Art is great.

Some nitpicks: Other than the fireballs at the end the mouse felt weird controlling the sprite flip. It didn't seem to make a different whether I was facing enemies or not while attacking, for a top down adding these directions is standard. So the player can visually see all four directions. I think I bugged the eye balls out near the end, it seemed if I got too close to enemies they would just bug out and not attack.

Enjoyed it. Good job!

The game is fun, but feels unbalanced. I think that it all comes down to how the enemies behave, if you just spam left click in their face, I don't think they can hurt you. I think that having more challenge would be good and balance the cost of upgrade to make them meaningful. What happens if you die with a character you posses ?

This is very fun! Didn't expect much at first but it turns out the be a very well made game! The battle mechanic was very polished and smooth, the upgrade system is great and balanced, and yet provided a great power fantasy toward the end of the game. Killing your original owner the first time feels really special especially when you thought the character was anyway important. I can't think of anything to criticise and to that fact, you all did a very good job! You should be proud of yourselves! Well done!

This turns from an unassuming little dungeon crawl to an awesome power fantasy with some fast-paced action! Super good job. I did find a soft lock, can knockback through doors and not be able to kill the enemies to unlock said door.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! If anyone else runs into this bug, if you step back from the door the eye enemy should path through the door back to you.

The best game I've seen in the jam so far. Didn't think much of it initially and said out loud to my friend in a call "Man i wish this dash did damage that's such a missed oppertunity." Then i pressed tab and guess what! The small art in the cutscenes is dope. The name is dope. Slowly building your combat abillities and possesing the different characters is dope. THE SOUNDS?! God you guys got some good sounds. Whoever made those be proud of yourself. Setting up and dashing to kill 6 skeletons and hearing that noise be multiplied on top of itself was really satisfying. Great job!
