- The art and attention to detail with the graphics caught my attention right away. Though there is no sound, it makes up for it well with everything else. The gameplay is simple, but satisfying and intuitive. I appreciated how all of the upgrades reflected something found in the real world, and the designs and animations for each enemy is quite fun (my favorite was the Trojan Horse). It's clear that everyone on the team put in great effort into making the idea come alive! For the GDD, each box was ticked well with clean design choices where it different from the template. It was nice having an explanation for things such as the color choice and UI design. It clearly defines what it sets out to do, gives reasoning, and has been executed well in the game itself! The long development timeline is laid out in such a way that prioritizes the most important elements first, with steady improvements as time permits. I'm glad that, while audio could have been nice, the team focused on the things that they were good at to ensure the core game was good and polished rather than designing sound from the get-go. Great work!

Summarise your game!
Through the Firewall is an autobattler game about upgrading a malware program and defeating various enemies on its way to internet domination.
Get upgrades after every successful battle and try to achieve the maximum of 10 wins!
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are playing as a computer virus, which adapts and changes itself to face stronger and stronger enemies. You need to modify yourself to succeed. You need to become the ULTIMATE (computer) WEAPON!
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Sadly we couldn't add any music in time, but I hope you enjoy our 1st game ever!

Cool idea! I liked the innovative enemies :) There could be some kind of leveling of enemies to make progression feel a bit more meaningful?
Yay , I won =p! I enjoyed your little game ^^! I didn't think of an autobattler with that theme, but that was an enjoyable experience! And honestly, for a first game, that's quite impressive =)!
I really liked the graphics, and the little animations when the monsters die are a nice touch! That trojan horse waving the white flag really got me xD.
The general game design is great, even if I would have enjoyed the enemies to scale juuuust a bit more, because it was quite easy. But I can understand that balancing a jam game is quite hard in the limited time, and it's better for the game to be too easy rather than too hard, so that was the safe choice =). The upgrade system is interesting, and I liked all the little references in the names =).
Now, the elephant in the room.... The audio. A completely silent game is a bit boring to play ^^'. I'm not even talking about music, but just some little "pewpews" when you/the enemy fires, and a victory jingle when you win the battle would have been some quick-wins that would greatly improve the game.
So yeah, overall, that's a great concept, solid execution, and I enjoyed the time I spent on it ^^. It's an awesome first game, you have potential so keep jaming =)!
Cool game! Great visuals and response - include some sound and you'll have me fully immersed. I love the tiny animations like the white flag of the Trojan and the fire wall "burning out". Also, tiny detail, but I believe fire rate is a measurement of projectiles/time; a lower fire rate implies slower attacking. (Just thought I'd let you know.) Good stuff!
