- Game runs quite smoothly and is simple to grasp. I feel you captured the Japanese theme well with the audio and visuals which is well done. Good artwork and smooth character animations. Two things I think could be useful changes, sometimes the text on screen is distorted making it harder to read. Also adding a visual to the arrows when they are cut like you have with the rice bales could aide in clarity, it took me a while before I noticed the audio cues. The story has potential but needs to be explored more to help highlight how it matches the theme.

Summarise your game!
The story is simple, as a Japanese sword you gain a soul after 100 years of use. When you awake, you find the family murdered. Instead of choosing to possess the sword, you possess the body of the heir to the family. You go out planning vengeance on the people who murdered your family.
It starts with a simple side scroller section through trap infested forest, making it far enough before passing out lets you be found by an old man. Who seeing through you, offers to help get you at one in your new body. This introduces the rhythm section of the game, where you are blocking incoming attacks.
If you make it through that section, CONGRATS! Thats the end of the game so far.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You play as the soul of a sword, possessing a dead samurai and wielding your old body (The Family sword). So its a weapon possessing a dead weapon, using his old body as a weapon.

I love the parallax, the music, the art, the vibes. Ya'll did a great job in making such a complete feeling game in the short amount of time of the game jam! The instructions were easy to follow and it was challenging even when I got a hang of it. This would be a fun mobile game if you ever felt like going into that region as well. Overall a fun entry and keep going (from a fellow husband wife team)!
This was a very cool game! Art was really good and the music matched! Loved that it all felt rhythmic, not just the "rhythm game" section. Really felt like it tied together.
In the rhythm section the DDR arrows didn't seem to be matching with the beat, they felt more like on the upbeat of things. But could be a web thing. I would love to see how the Native build plays!
Overall impressive stuff for two weeks of work! I loved it!
I liked the art very much and the I think the music was good also and appropriate. I would've loved to see how the arrows went in two when I sliced them. I don't think there was much variation at least what I played, so I'd like to see some other objects or maybe enemies that I can slice and dice!
