  • GDD: Document seems too short. Perhaps add section of art to give it more context of the game design and maybe some ingame images of the game for describe game mechanics would improved the description of the game loop. I would suggest to add an development timeline to showcase the game's state. Game: I think the game's aim target function should be directional than enemy-clicking. So like I can hold the mouse down in one direction and the arrows can just fired that direction endless than click on enemies. That would resulted a better game experience. Perhaps also have upgrade for more towers. I think the game would benefits a lot from having a skilltree for the basic upgrades and then having the shop for the rare resources / upgrades. Also I think it would be nice if I had some soldiers for protecting farmers against ghosts when I am taking care of the spiders. Bugs: * when all people died, the ghosts just stand still. * ghost health is higher than spiders

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a sentient Tower that defends its village against waves of enemies while collecting resources to buy upgrades.

Click on Deploy and your Villagers will start collecting resources
Defend them! Click on Ghosts and you will start to shoot arrows at them.
Retreat and spend gathered resources on Upgrades
Repeat

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In strategy games, a common mechanic involves placing towers to defend a village. These towers usually fire automatically at incoming enemies while the player manages the rest of the village. Loop Tower flips this script: the player directly controls the tower, while resource collection happens automatically through villagers.

That was super fun! Very well made and I had a blast!

Very fun game loop, the scale did feel a bit off initially but it grew on me. I would say that given how empty everything is the brown houses throw you off because I felt like it had a purpose which I was missing or didn't know about. Great job and it was a lot of fun!

This has for sure been one of the most fun games. It really sucks you in. I definitely feel like there are some balancing things that need to be tweaked but those are always hard with this type of game. For example if you get a few of the basic upgrades and then just focus on movement speed you can clear the level so fast all the other upgrades seem pointless.
I got to the point where I was clearing a map in less then a second, and rarely even firing at any enemies.
I still had a ton of fun playing and would love to see where this goes in the future! Great job!

That scale:

Good game, generally on tower defense like games you get resources for killing enemies but on this one you get them by harvest. Makes the economic upgrades OP in my opinion as those were the ones I focused on.

One Note for the UI for itch.io, the top right corner is unclickable because of the submission. Making it full screen could do the trick

Also , what are the brown houses?

Developer

Thanks! Also thanks for pointing out the thing about the submission button.
The houses are just decoration :)

I sat down to try a few of the recent submissions and ended up playing yours for like 20 min. So far my favorite entry I have played so far. I really liked the mechanics. Early on it started pretty challenging but once you get bounce its so nice! Auto shoot was sweet as well. Really great job with this. Would love to see how this progresses as you keep working on it. Great job!
