Loop Tower's itch.io pageJudge feedback
Judge feedback is anonymous.
- GDD: Document seems too short. Perhaps add section of art to give it more context of the game design and maybe some ingame images of the game for describe game mechanics would improved the description of the game loop. I would suggest to add an development timeline to showcase the game's state. Game: I think the game's aim target function should be directional than enemy-clicking. So like I can hold the mouse down in one direction and the arrows can just fired that direction endless than click on enemies. That would resulted a better game experience. Perhaps also have upgrade for more towers. I think the game would benefits a lot from having a skilltree for the basic upgrades and then having the shop for the rare resources / upgrades. Also I think it would be nice if I had some soldiers for protecting farmers against ghosts when I am taking care of the spiders. Bugs: * when all people died, the ghosts just stand still. * ghost health is higher than spiders

Summarise your game!
You are a sentient Tower that defends its village against waves of enemies while collecting resources to buy upgrades.
Click on Deploy and your Villagers will start collecting resources
Defend them! Click on Ghosts and you will start to shoot arrows at them.
Retreat and spend gathered resources on Upgrades
Repeat
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In strategy games, a common mechanic involves placing towers to defend a village. These towers usually fire automatically at incoming enemies while the player manages the rest of the village. Loop Tower flips this script: the player directly controls the tower, while resource collection happens automatically through villagers.

A simple and great game. the gameplay loop works perfectly but speeding up villagers and making them break the frame barrier breaks the game too easily and provides little incentive to use the tower and upgrade the shop past level 2. I was able to get around 30,000 per round without using the tower.
Short, simple, yet so addicting. i would definetly play for much longer if there was more content to it, but it feels well polished with the abilities it currently has in store. It kind of reminds me of Age of Empires lol. Can't wait to see what else this game will have in store for future updates.
Very fun game! It was easy to learn and pick up, and the gameplay loop was really enjoyable! I also really liked the easy to read simple graphics that gave this game a unique look. I’d love to see more challenge and complexity added to this in the future, and to just expand on what you already have
Played through your game on stream, if you wanted to watch the playthrough heres the vod timestamped to your game (if it doesn't work your game starts at 2:53:05)
Clean presentation, simple but in a good way. Time just flew and I spent more time playing then I care to admit. I think the basic combat loop could be more interesting, right now threat assesment is about as far as it gets, some more anemy veriety would've been nice.
This was simple, easy fun!
Great game, wish there was more of a balancing thing upgrade wise, where you are forced to decide between power and economy scaling but i enjoyed the experience as it is
Visually it is simple, again quite pleasing really.
One can only hope there will be more one day
I don't think it was expected for people to play to the point that the workers all turn into sonic the hedgehog but here I am. Addictive and simple loop - plenty of space to expand and polish post jam but a very fun little game!
Really fun incremental game. I kept playing for a while after seeing the tree upgrade just cuz I wanted to get more upgrades. It's really satisfying once you one shot everything with an auto tower and your workers a running at hyper speed. Great work on this!
I played until the very end and then some just to get a billion upgrades.
Like everyone else, I played more than I thought, very well done. Make it shoot auto instead of having to click and I think I would play it even longer lol.
Thanks! In case you missed it, the auto attack is already an upgrade you can get in the shop :)
Ah ? I did not see it, I saw the tree item that said " it's end of the jam version. " So I stopped thinking there was no more upgrade, will try again :)
Fun game for sure!
Gets pretty hectic
Even in this relatively simple state, I'm loving it and craving more. I really hope you continue working on it. Well done!
Loved "breaking" the game!! Got my villagers so fast they picked up every grain before the ghost even arrived.
Basically, I played a lot. Nice concept would be even better with more features. Hope you can get around to them would love to play again :)
Hey we made similar games just 3D vs 2D!! The platforming feels really good here. If anything the bounce on the extension feels like it adds the bounce later than I'd expect, and some of the pathing got confusing, but I love all the small touches you added like the little sword face and the collectible coins!!
PLEASE MAKE MORE! I NEED IT!!!
It's the type of game that I would play for hours straight, simple visuals yet really fun mechanic that can be expanded in many ways. Good job on creating this!
The game seems rather simple at first but it got me hooked for longer than I would like to admit. I got to a point where I tried to break the engine by stacking villager movement speed but didn't seem to manage it. Very well done!
Amazing game, I played this for ages. Very addictive.
very fun game i played till the end :) i wish there was some more poolish like music sfx and some animations to stuff but other than that a fantastic addicting game!
Wow i liked this game. i'm keeping it open in another tab while i'm reviewing more. really good job!
