  • Reading through your GDD, it was very easy to tell what you wanted to do with your game. I enjoy the spin on "You are the Weapon" with being normal tools, rather than a more traditional weapon (even though in the past, farm tools were used as weapons by peasants protecting their farms XD). When trying to play the game, it would not load in Google Chrome. However, I was able to get it to load in Firefox! There was a small error I think with the controls. I could use the left mouse button to "attack" and 'R' did nothing. I think the way you implemented and used all the tools' special abilities very well! The boss fight was very well done! The only critique I had was that I had a hard time telling the difference between the Cow's attacks. I saw there were differences - such as the red angry eyes for the fireball vs the black angry eyes for the charge. However, something about the timing didn't click with me so I would be in the hole when the fireball actually fired, so I couldn't get out in time to dodge. Overall though, a very good game and I had fun!

The tools are in revolt! They are after the farmer's allies, maybe even the farmer himself one day.....

Instead of using the tools in your cozy farm sim, you now ARE them. Also they're violent!

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I'm particularly fond of (spoilers!) the boss fight at the end!

I liked how the 3 different characters had their mechanics being used. Also how the map was setup for you to instantly use these to progress. As someone else pointed out, try to use some audio. A few SFX and some BGM make a game quicky feel more alive.

I took a lot of level design inspiration from Hollow Knight, so I'm glad that came through! I definitely plan on adding SFX and background music in the future. Thanks for playing!

I was having an excellent time until my scythe ROCKETED off the screen. 😂 I LOVE the feel of this game. Reminds me of old Windows games. I wish it had some sound, but I think you did a great job.

Adding that I saw the "hit enter to skip level". LOVE the way the game ends!

Yeah it has to do with the world scrolling. If it scrolls and you move just the right way the character overlaps with a block and the collision gets confused and YOINKS you in a weird direction. Would have loved to fix that and add sounds but ran outta time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Thanks for playing!
