Summarise your game!
The GUNslinger is a turn-based action game where you literally play as a living gun on a journey to reclaim what was lost. Fight through different enemies to find your humanity once again.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Our game fits the theme "You are the Weapon" because you play as Roberto, a famous gunslinger who has literally turned into a living gun, having to fight enemies just as he did before, but now being his own weapon.

Your feedback failed to post sorry. Here it is:

Playability
- Almost no bugs, a very smooth experience! The only bug I could find was that if you skip the intro at the right moment, the screen is stuck with a yellow hue cast over everything.
Theme Implementation
- Great writing! It was a bit long but it clearly laid out the premise and plot.
- It would have been nice to have some writing in the mid-levels.
Cleverness
- You don't get anything for beating a boss! Missed opportunity. Slay the Spire provides players a different pool to choose from than the normal pool of upgrades.
- You and your opponent are a ball of stats with approximately the same capabilities. Upgrades amount to having more stats, and as far as I can tell there are basically two builds: tanky or slappy. You mentioned Darkest Dungeon 2 in your inspirations, I think they're a great game to reference for how to improve here because their gameplay has several dimensions to far past just HP and DMG (statuses, tokens, position, stress, etc.) As much of a cultural monolith Pokémon is, its combat is very lackluster in my opinion, but even that has a couple dimensions past just 2 balls of stats ramming into each other (weaknesses, team building, more significant stat management)
- I would have a better time deciding what to do with my turn if I knew what my opponent was going to do, or if I at least knew how many bullets they had left.
Artistic Style
- Pixel art and hand drawn art can live together, even on the same screen! See Celeste. I think you could have gone with non-pixel art for the UI so that you could have more clarity and style, as it gets harder to render things the smaller the elements are. And on that note:
- I think you also have a pixel scaling issue where not every element on screen has the same pixel size. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FCJWPYqV0TI?feature=share If you ever had a feeling of "why does my pixel art feel off?" It's likely because of this rule.
- An abundance of great art and animation, in the cutscene and the gameplay and the UI. Well done on the pixel art front but I think there's room for improvement. Try following Saint11's tutorials, he does an overview on a ton of pixel art fundamentals.

The game is fun !

There might be some improvement you could make to the log. It's pretty hard to understand who does what when.

Congrats the game looks polished.

Dang this game is hard! The art is beautiful and the story is super cool! Really enjoyed the beginning cutscene! Having some music in the beginning cut scene would have been fire! SFX were great and the fight music were really nice as well. I'm not sure what to do for the gameplay perspective. Maybe getting  a heal or a checkpoint system. Would have really liked to see the ending, but I played through like 4 time. Last boss is tough.

Great job y'all! Fantastic submission.

Thanks for playing our game!

Unfortunately, the person who was supposed to work on the cutscene music dropped out without warning and we didn’t have time to create a new one... But I agree, the cutscene would be awesome with music! Also, the idea of a healing/checkpoint system is great. Maybe the player could go back to full life after each boss battle?

Anyway, thank you so much for your feedback on the game!

Dang the final boss got me! Some color coding on the battle log would make it more readable. Also i think some indicator to tell me when it is my turn would be a good addition. Overall tho good job!!

I really like the art on this one. The powerups between each round were varied and interesting. The sound effects were on point. Played through the whole thing and had fun doing it.

This was awesome I love that you play as a gun with a cowboy hat. I really enjoyed the power ups between fights and the ramping up in difficulty was nice. Great work on this I enjoyed playing thru it!

This is really cool! There's a lot of interesting things you could do with this concept; I would totally play this if it became a full RPG. Great work!

Initially, there would be a music for the cutscene, but the guy that was supposed to work on the OST dropped out. Unfortunally, we couldn't do a new one on time. Thanks for your feedback! Your game is also awesome!
