Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
You are an antivirus sheriff inside a computer, pick out viruses from normal file traffic and duel them wild-west style!
Mechanics:
Main Road - LMB click on a person to start a duel with them
Dueling - WASD to move crosshair / SPACE to shoot
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Antivirus software is the weapon against viruses. We leaned into the idea of it being a weapon by incorporating a wild-west theme when you have to gun down viruses in a duel.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Thank you for taking the time to play and judge our game! We wanted to use this game jam to try things we've not done before. This is the first time we coded a game in unity, our goal was to try and get familiar with coding different mechanics so we can work on bigger projects. Our artists also tried pixel art for the first time

We apologise for the delayed feedback:
I really like this interpretation of the theme! As an antivirus software fighting viruses that are trying to infect your machine, you are absolutely the weapon against those viruses. I love the idea of the computer being represented as the Wild West and that you duel it out with viruses in an old-school style shooter. This reminds me a lot of the movies Tron and Tron: Legacy for their interpretation of the computer being highways and buildings. The music has a nice ambiance, the sound effects from the gun shots and when a virus gets through are solid as well. I think my main suggestions would be to keep improving the art (already great, and I can see how awesome it could be in the future), add more custom music, and refine the UI. The shooting mechanics are simple, so adding some sort of waver to the targeting would make it feel a little more difficult.
Your GDD is pretty well laid out and descriptive, though your development progress section is a bit chaotic. I understand that can be difficult to figure out how to implement and keep track of, so no judgement there! I like the sketch layouts of the main two screens, but more detail on the UI wireframes or other mockups would be good to see. The mechanics are simple enough to not need a lot of detail, and the download progress bar is easy to understand. I also would have liked to see the roles of each of your developers in the GDD: this can help also keep everyone on track and keep duties separate as needed.
Overall, really enjoyed your game! Awesome job on using new software and exploring new art styles. Thanks for this submission to the game jam!
Interesting defense game. I like the concept and beat the game. At first, I didn’t notice that I was supposed to shoot specific spots on the target and I could shoot as much as I want without penalty especially since you can’t loose a duel, there is no time limit. Also, there was only 3 of the exact same spots to shoot for every target. Might want to spice that up somehow. Like adding targets all over and each are worth different points and you have to get 3 points to defeat the enemy. Then there could be weak points worth 2 or 3 points to require the player to have more skill for those. On top of that, you could add bullet count for the revolver and it rolls over to the next fight, so you have to choose weak points or not and when to reload. I’d also suggest switching the WASD to Mouse since you are already using the Mouse, why make the player switch control schemes?
Hi Necron, thanks a lot for trying out our game! Im glad you enjoyed the concept and completed it! Your feedback is totally appreciated and definitely affirms what we felt to change in a future update -- as we actually tried to make these changes but since it was my first time coding in unity i actually didnt know how to fix it haha. We had each character have it's own unique weakpoint placement so if you remembered it you would get rewarded for shooting them faster but for some reason it would all default the the same area and we werent able to fix it in time. This goes the same for a lose condition and changing it from WASD to mouse. Hope that clears things up :))
On a side note, i also would like to add a leaderboard and timer speedrun style!
The visuals on this were great. A really good mashup of scifi and western. I like the idea of filtering the files/townsfolk as the pass. I do kind of wish something more had happened during the duel.
Hey thanks for trying it out! I also agree that our art team did an amazing job. It was a pleasure as always to work with them :)) Also thanks for the feedback!
Game has good vibes :) Nice art, music, idea. I think it might have been better to continue using the mouse for the duel instead of wasd though. I kinda like that the viruses werent explicitly shown at the beginning but instead you were on the lookout for something wrong with the files, and work out what a virus looks like during the gameplay.
Thanks pipotchi for playing and i hope you enjoyed it! Def will take your feedback into consideration in a future update! Our art team was awesome as always!
Nice idea and interesting game play! What I love most about this game is the art style! It looks so unique and fleshed out! Interesting color palette as well :)
Awesome aesthetics, the contrast sure works really well here. The variety of arts was wonderful & game play was solid!
thank you so much! Hope you enjoyed it!
neat idea, its takes a bit to discern the virus's. But overall, well done!
Thank you for playing and I hope our game was enjoyable for you!
Nice art! And im surprised you had so many different enemy sprites, I wanted to play more to see them all. Good job!
Thank you haha, our art team was awesome as always! They def work super fast! I hope to add more in the future :))
I confess that the first time I played I didn't pay much attention to the tutorial and I kept killing everyone... then I realized that the bar wasn't going up and I saw that there were some files that had a weird animation and then I got it hahahhaha it was my lack of Attention, the game is very easy to understand (especially when you notice the tutorial). I loved the premise of your game, it's very very creative! It would certainly be possible to delve deeper into the game if it weren't for the limited jam time, but you managed to deliver a very good and fun result! I loved the variety of enemies and especially the designs of each of the infected ones and the music was great, it really matched the theme. congratulations to those involved!
hahahah glad you were able to figure out!! hope you were able to enjoy it too! Thank you so much for the kind words. Def hope to polish it up in the near future :))
The game is easy to pick up and really fun to play—perfect for someone like me, lol! Great job!
thanks so much for trying it out, glad you enjoyed it!
This game has a great feel to it. The character and virus designs are awesome with a tinge of goofiness, which I highly appreciate. Also the music is really solid and got me into it! The tutorial was simple, clear, and concise. Beautiful aesthetic, great job y’all.
Thank you so much for the kind words, loved your game as well!
good job,and the first shot really hits the man's weak spot, haha
Got him right in the dll’s
hahaha, it's funny cause i spent the time changing it around but the system still defaulted to that since it was my original placeholder. need to bugfix in the future, or not lol.
