- The controls are very simple and easy to understand but the movement is a bit hard to get used to. I liked that there is a story and it only continues if you get to the next pumpkin. The limit to the angle you can aim makes it very hard to get to high spots, especially sense the double jump only worked a few times for me. The music and art were a nice combination, really made the game feel medieval.

Summarise your game!
Soar through a charming medieval village as a mysteriously animated sword with an inexplicable grudge against glowing, magical pumpkins. Master the art of aerial combat and destroy enchanted gourds before time runs out!
Controls:
Mouse to aim
Left Mouse Button (LMB) to soar through the air
Click LMB mid-flight for a powerful double jump!
Why are you a sword? What's the deal with these pumpkins? The answers await those who explore this whimsical world... and for the truly adventurous, a secret lies hidden deep in the icy mountains.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You're literally a sword! Instead of fighting with a weapon, you ARE one - launching yourself around the map and stabbing into the ground and building to traverse the peaceful medieval setting. There are other connections to the theme in the story that's revealed throughout the game, but I'll let you discover those as you play!
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I started the jam with a group but it fell apart a couple of days in. I decided to jump back in 4 days before submission time so there are still quite a few bugs, especially with menu navigation. Please enjoy the game!

Beautiful graphics and satisfying movement. It feels surprisingly chaotic from such a simple premise. I am shocked you did this in only a handful of days after losing your team. Very impressive!
Thanks! It was slapped together very quickly but I'm happy with the final result for a jam game.
This was fun! Nice job for 4 days of work. I really enjoyed the poem voiceovers every time I smashed a pumpkin. I found it a surprisingly motivating reason to keep going.
Very fun to play. I just wished there was no time limit mode for more casual players.
Yeah, exploration mode would be awesome. I could add a bunch of "easter eggs" to find, kind of like a treasure hunt.
Barely beat it on my second attempt. Great work!
Overall presentation was awesome, especially the wonderful voice overs. Sword was awkward to get into position, would have been nice to get a bit more control. Maybe some kind of "wind" mechanic where you can push it around a little bit in mid-air, or something to give it torque on the ground.
Had a good time, well done!
Thanks! I just checked out some of your games too and they're great!
Really fun game. The sword can be hard to control at times trying to get the blade to hit the ground near where you are trying to jump to. Nice to see the squash change locations on each play-through. Managed to beat it on the third try.
Hey, great job! Did you happen to find the hidden message?
Hidden message?! Now I have to play again...
The menu and UI look very polished! I'd like to see the gameplay fleshed out a little more though, as the controls were kinda hard to grapple with, and I felt like I couldn't control the sword in the way I wanted.
Thanks! I ran out of time on bug fixes and the like, but I plan to add more weapons and levels in the future and clean up the controls.
Very gorgeous art style, nice audio. The concept is nice but the control just feels completely random which is too frustrating. I couldn't get a single squash on my first run.
Thanks for playing! The physics did come out quite inconsistent but I think it helped create a good mix of challenge and frustration. Give it another go and see if you can grab all the pumpkins or find the secret message! I'll give your game a shot as soon as I can.
