Simple controls which for phone must be great. 4 level which were increasingly difficult to beat. A little bug I found was, that when your mouse if far away from the screen e.g. on a neighboring screen more force is applied to the cube. This exploit could be use to just stick to a wall and slowly glide down :D.

I feel the hit boxes could have been more forgiving. Furthermore longer levels with average difficulty would have been great too.

All in all a complete experience which was fun to play.

Thank you for the review! The controls do work much better for an Android device than a PC. The levels were one of the last things I added to the game, so I didn't have much time left which ended up in short levels with a sharp 'spike' in difficulty for the last two levels. The glitch/exploit I did find when developing the game, but I decided to first work on other parts of the game and didn't have enough time to fix it.

Respect Of the Theme - Block ✅ | falling ✅

Originality - dodge the spike platformer with interesting controls.

Fun to play - Too hard to control with a mouse on PC. didn't beat level 3. Could be fun if PC was given better control and the control used was just for mobile.

Effort - falling block, static bodies, check against spikes. Not a lot mechanically. But well executed enough. Wish the pc controls were better.

Beauty - turn off the pixel filter, the gfx were blurry. otherwise I like the color variance. I like the spikes crystal-y design. I like the simple red square.

Thank you for the detailed review! The controls worked really well for the Android version, but I now realized maybe I should have changed the PC version to have buttons instead of mouse control.

I imagine so. If I could have just moved my mouse a bit faster it would’ve worked out haha. Really solid effort hope to see you in more jams in the future!

It was difficult to play. I liked that the "control" was just the mouse being on the left or right side of the screen. First in the jam to do something like that. Art was blurry. I wish it was easier to have control over the dot. Couldn't beat level two even. A way to slow it down would have been nice.

Thank you for the feedback! I am still a bit new when it comes to making pixel art and I think I have a habit of making hard games, but maybe sometimes a bit too hard...

level 3 and 4 are really complicated :)

I understand the idea and more level with a more progressive difficulty would have been a plus

Developer

I was planning to add more levels, but a lot of the time was spent troubleshooting problems. So I also didn't spend that much time on the level design either (which explains why there is a sharp 'spike' in difficulty). Which is why I think I might make an updated version with more levels, better level progression, and better music/visuals in the future.

It isn't a bad game, but it could've been better. Would be awesome if you made the collision for spikes smaller.

Also, the music and art aren't the best. I checked your profile and this isn't your first game.

Pixel art do's and don'ts

Remember, practice makes you better.

Thank you for the suggestions and videos! This is only my second retro style game I've made, so I'm still new to making pixel art and do not know much about making music. So I may make an updated version of this game in the future.
