Hi, this is quite fun. My only comment is that it seems too easy to jump in and get kills and disappear before the Escort even reaches the Search box, unless I am missing something?

It's definitely possible to get a few shots in and disengage before the Escort reaches the Search Box, if you're being careful and not pushing your luck too much. : )

Yes it is quite fun. Makes you plan and think about risks :-) I am going to play a game ignoring one of the dots "pre-search" to make it more nail-biting :-)
