  • Fun little diner dash sort of game, struggled with some bugs but the concept is fun!
  • Pregnancy content: A little lackluster, but it is there at least. Having the MC go through some kind of pregnancy would really help, plus a bit more interaction maybe? Gameplay: I like the idea here, it was just a bit jank in my opinion. By the time the third level rolled around, all the guests spawned on top of each other and at that point it was a tossup if I would be able to seat them correctly. It needs some polish and testing, but what is there is good and more involved than most other games here. Creativity: Quite interesting little thing here and I like the difficulty curve as well, it just needs a bit of polish and to be expanded on (HAHAHEAHEHAEH), which I will be looking forward to for sure. Personal thoughts: I liked the difficulty ramp-up, though it got pretty hard to manage since I got unlucky and customers would spawn exclusively on top of each other, which meant that it was a coinflip if I could serve them. Vivian not having any pregnancy despite the outfit really being set up for it was criminal, but I can forgive it given the time constraints. Also, I respect the laziness of giving her roller skates to not have to animate a walk cycle, that was clever.

Yo. Really nice. Good gameplay, fun, and with challenges.
But the difficulty is a bit high for a start.
And call me the manager. Who is the donkey who puts 1 chair in one direction and 4 in the other.? XD
Dw that just a joke. :3. But be care. It smells like forced difficulty. And some troll let's not be embarrassed to point it out unkindly.
Apart from that, that was Really nice like i alraidy said. Clean art, nice challenge and nice gamplay.

Thank for your work and your game. :3

Fun game. Enjoyed how the rules built up over time adding complexity. The many simple mechanics were very fun. Also the art and little dialogue tidbits were very cute. Main thing I wished for on that front was even more since what was there is wonderful. Even just one more NPC variation would be excellent to add more variety. Barring a few minor technical issues which do add up in the version I played, it was a great time. The interact hitbox is a little clunky and I wish it was a bit larger (you’d need to make sure it only interacts with the object in range that’s closest to its center). Some of the table displays were a little buggy, mainly the 3 person tables. If you have issues with that, the 3 chairs are on the inside with 3 tables on the outside. EDIT: it looks like a patch is already out that will fix the 3 person table display. Also there seems to be a bug where game overring in certain situations would prevent interacting from working while playing from then on needing a restart. Think it might be due to getting a game over while holding something and that state not properly resetting. This necessary restart coupled with no saves definitely hurts. I really wanted to see the end but day 6’s difficulty meant I ran into the reset bug twice and didn’t have it in me to try a third full playthrough at this time. If it gets fixed and maybe the day 6 difficulty toned down slightly (possibly be having group spawns make it take longer for the next group to spawn), I will definitely be back immediately to see the ending. Very cute game and I really hope the main character ends up with a belly of her own.

Cute game. It is a nice way to waste a little time.

I'll keep a list of known bugs here for everyone to see. Version 1.1 has these bugs fixed, so I would recommend you play with that version, however for the judges please use the original "Vivian's Diner Shift" download for scoring.

  • The top left table on day 2 is offset, so you can't put anyone there
  • The customers stack on top of each other, so you take a random customer when you interact with them
  • The lose screen says to press spacebar, but it's actually coded to go away on Left Click

Simple fun and very cute art! The seating direction stuff starting on level 2 seems to be broken, though

Developer

Thank you! For the seating, I think what it is is that 1. One of the tables on level 2 is just a little bit off-grid, which breaks that whole table, and 2. I thought the customer queuing was working but it broke when I put in the sprites, so all the customers stack on top of each other so you just grab a random customer from the pile with no way to know which one it is.

I think you forgot to add the game file, there's only data in the download.

Thanks for letting me know! What happened was I renamed the game file from the project name, but I accidentally deleted the .exe file extension from the "Vivian's Diner Shift" file so it didn't recognize it as an .exe file. It should hopefully be fixed now!
