This was great! You nailed the difficulty level for a 5-10 minute game! It was challenging without being frustrating. The checkpoints were generous, but I never felt like my hand was being held at any point. And the "fake" blocks added some nice variety - it was almost always funny when I forgot about them and fell to my death. Great pacing overall.

The respawn animation was very cool! It was one of the most professional-feeling effects in the whole game. And I loved the over-the-top giant fireball attack in the third stage. It was super satisfying - a nice reward for clearing the first two stages.

The music was a little grating , and clashed a little bit with some of the sfx. And the jump felt a little bit stiff at first - but it was perfect once I got used to it, so that is barely  a complaint!

Great entry! Cool implementation of the theme, and a fun, complete experience! Of the games I have played so far, this one feels the most like a finished product. I look forward to seeing your team's future projects

solid game! didn't run into any issues while playing, except for the hub area being laggy while the rest of the game was fine. music was good but might get a bit repetitive over time. i love how violent the flamethrower is, but personally the screen shake was a bit much. movement was precise which is necessary to not be aggravating in this type of game, tiling was cheeky in places but clear enough once you get used to each level. game is short enough to do multiple runs and aim for better times, finding spots to shave off a couple seconds was good fun. well done overall!

Its great to see a pico-8 entry!

The controls are smooth, and the game plays as expected without any bugs!
The art is very simple yet charming, which is hard to pull off in the Pico limitations.
I thought it was weird that the acorn had no top, but it made sense at the end.
I didn't really feel like I was in a pocket at all, but there was a pocket in the level select room, and acorns do fit in pockets. The gameplay is not the most creative, but it does work well and that is important!
The music sounded great at first but by the end of the 7 minutes I played, I was wishing that there was a chord change or more to the baseline, or something.. it was too repetitive after a few minutes. A new song for each level would have been fantastic.
The sound design is good! I didn't feel like any sounds were missing or out of place.
I Couldn't find the pico-8 cart PNG in the zip, not that this is necessary, but I would add this to my handheld device!

Awesome to see so many people coming together to make a single jam game!

Y'all, this was fantastic! I loved how you incorporated the theme and how each area felt distinct. It has the right amount of difficulty (and shortcuts) to make for a great speed-runnable game!
