The Theme
There are air pockets in the ocean the player must find to survive in the deep. However, they're just bubbles.

The Journey
I became much more familar with particle systems, as I used one to make the air pockets, and another blood splatter for when the shark bites you! however the shark isn't in the current build.

The Team
No

The animated pixel art here is so polished! I am so impressed by the seamless transition between swimming and treading states, and it looks good even when rotated to swim at odd angles. The water texture is subtle, but also looks awesome!

I know you said that the swim speed based on the mouse distance is unintentional, but that seems like a cool mechanic to explore!

Thanks for submitting! You have a really solid foundation! I would love to see a finished version of this!

cool concept! not sure if i was doing something wrong but i didn't find any air pockets/bubbles, looked left right and down. the swimming animation looks nice though and it's a nice base system to build off of!

oh yeah it's unfinished but the animation for swimming is really cool

I liked how the swimming felt, although a natural consequence of the mouse distance determining speed, it was faster to swim horizontally rather than vertically. Maybe you could incorporate that feature into a puzzle-like obstacle course underwater!
