I love this game so much. The concept, impressive art, engrossing story and shocklying addictive game play. I love everything about it.
Great concept, and impressive job all-around on the implementation. I love the aspect of needing to balance conflicting requests from different characters. It reminded me a bit of the old Hidden Agenda game from the '80s, but with a more unique and engaging interface.
Thanks so much :) Will definitely check that out!
I loved this! The way you gradually connect people band together was beautiful, the fact there's lesbians is always a plus, and the way you end the game is chefs kiss. The only thing that would improve the game is if it was called Papyrus, Please ;)
Funnily enough, it almost was!
Wahh this Nakht is driving me crazy! ;) Wonderful game I've enjoyed it a lot.
This is a great game, I really enjoyed the dialogs and the wobbly cables! :-)
The design of this whole thing is just beautiful! It’s a really satisfying kind of control to have - instigating communication. The art is gorgeous, and the music choice was really good. I definitely want to come back to this one. Obviously for a jam this’d be tough, but one thing I’d love to see more of from this would be alternative ways to misdirect people. If nothing else, I’d love to be able to ignore channels more often, even if maybe I’d regret it in the end.
Really impressed with this one though - I hope we see more of it in future.
Thanks so much Mist!! Yeah that's definitely something we want too, we're toying with the idea of more drastic branching too but don't want to give up the more optimistic vibe of the game compared to Papers, Please etc
We're currently pitching to a publisher though so maybe there will be more! :)
PS I loved Arity!
Great little idea & love the presentation. Def could see it building to a sort of Papers Please-esque level of complexity :D
"Papyrus, Please", if you will
Really good use of theme! and the narritive was awesome, I got really into it.
also the art is wonderfully stylised :)
Wow, that was really great. Art, story and music/sound are all excellent!
I run into a bug: After failing and restarting stage 6, one of the switches didn't light up and I couldn't connect again and got stuck.
Sorry about that! Yeah there are definitely a few little bugs like that I want to work out moving forward but we didn't have time during the jam unfortunately
Thanks for the kind words :)
"you have this power" -- chills!
I could see this being used as a teaching aide in a history class or something. Absolutely loved the tie-in there at the end with our history and reminding the player how much power we have in today's world to connect and organize. Would absolutely love to see you continue work on this!
So many little details brought this together -- the gentle chime of the of the numbered tiles, the music, the art, the font -- the game is incredibly cohesive visually. Also really enjoyed the rope mechanic on the switchboard : very satisfying!
I was a little confused at first about the controls since I didn't realize the first button was actively lit up...I was clicking basically everywhere but there XD. Having that blink or something would really help, as well as add an air of urgency to the requests. I was also a bit confused at times at being able to route the person back to themselves, but only some of the time? It wasn't entirely clear when that was an option in the text instructions. Sometimes passing them on also didn't entirely click for me -- like one was asking for grain, but was then upset that I sent them to bread, or another asking for the high priestess was upset I patched them on to priests. I'm guessing it's because I missed some details in previous conversations, but adding some more custom feedback might help guide the player, like having them say, "there's no more bread, there! Please, connect me to someone who can help" instead of "that's not what I asked for" could go a long way.
Overall, this was a fantastic submission!
Wow! Thanks so much for the lovely and detailed feedback :)
We're currently working on a pitch doc for a small publisher looking for 10-30 minute games so fingers crossed!!
Definitely taking your suggestions on board in terms of teaching how to use the switches & having more unique feedback per stage
Great use of the theme and I liked the touch of adding the spam/scam callers and the setting with the art.
This was great, I love the idea of an ancient switchboard. Great art style too!
meticulous. details are perfect.
Congratulations to the team. This game is very well polished. I find the game idea to be original. Very good use of music, SFX and graphics to create an immersive setting. The only thing I would comply is that the numbers are hard to read.
Thanks so much! That's definitely understandable, we noticed it during development but didn't have enough time to fix it sadly, something we'll keep in mind going forward though :)
The story, art and music make a great impression. Great job with this game!
astounded by how Amazing this game is!! the art, game play, writing, all of it was excellent!! trying to figure out how to connect people really drove the message home and brought about the feeling of making a difference. well done!!
