Good game with clean graphics which reminds me Ecco The Dolphin, but the gameplay is totally different. So it fits with the theme. The main mechanics work well as expected. I am not a big fan of this genre (beat-em-up), but I had fun playing yours. I noticed a little delay between sounds and action. Not a big problem. Well done ++

The character designs and art are fantastic!

I think the controls need work, and having a side-scrolling level to explore would have been more enjoyable than a static screen.

Bravo again for the great character art and animations :D

I admire the ambition of creating a beat-em-up for a jam; there's a lot of work involved in making them fun and satisfying. I like the character animations, they have a lot of character, kind of like toejam and earl.

The game doesn't plays very well. I think the main problem are the controls (I find it weird that attacking makes you move forward and accelerating with each click) and the collision with the enemies (I got stuck with one above my head trying to reach me out).
Nice work on the sounds. Mainly the music. I could notice the efforts put into those. Also, the outstanding sprite was with no doubt the main character.

I noticed you were going for a Sega Genesis beat 'em up styled game, so my advice on the collisions would be to allow players and enemies to overlap, since that's what happens normally in this games and also will prevent a lot of weird bugs like the one I mention.
Also about the controls, specifically on the attack, I think they would feel more natural to click each time for a single attack, and not doing an autocombo in the air. If you would like to go for the autocombo, maybe check if the first attack landed before doing the whole animation.

Thanks for the review! Changes are def in order for this game so I'll need to tinker with mechanics but I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to type this.

The controls were definitely the missed part of the project, I originally wanted the click punches to deal more damage the more you like click with the mouse but the message didn't display properly at all.  Also the overlapping is def an issue that can be fixed, I originally tried to have the spin move deal with enemy hordes but they can sometimes be too much, so the no overlap and no accel on punches would probably help a ton.

I like this game's humor, but just playing it is difficult. My attacks seemed to do nothing for the longest time, it takes way too long to kill even the weakest enemies, and it is way too easy to get stunlocked and become unable to play the game at all. I think some adjustments may be in order.

Thanks for your review! This game definitely needs some adjustments that I've been implementing later on. Mainly getting out of stun locks with right click and making the clicks deal more damage.
