Still thirsty... :D

The spikes colliders were a little unforgiving, I felt a lot of times I was dying even though I was no-where near the spikes.

Overall good effort.

What a happy little victory screen! I totally get what you were going for with the GBC port idea, because it reminds me of when I played Donkey Kong Country on GBC. Good going on that. The spikes kinda gave me flashbacks to raging at Sonic because I always felt it went against the idea of the game, which was to go fast, and I always felt like the games should flow better and not jumpscare you with spikes. That said, this is fairly forgiving once you start to anticipate them, and being able to adjust while you're on the water is nice. The one thing I think would really elevate this is some indication of how many cartons you need to pick up to win, or at least a graphic for how many lives you have. Still fun though. Good work :)

It's rare to see a game that goes for the style of "port from a more advanced system", but I feel like the graphics and sound convey that well. Plumley is well-animated and usually controls fine, though not being able to turn around on water is annoying. Unfortunately, with ports to a handheld console comes screen crunch — Plumley moves a bit fast for how big the screen is, so sometimes, you can't see spikes until it's too late to react to them. As others have suggested, you could have the camera pan so it's ahead of you while you're running, artificially extending  the screen size like some other GBC games did.

i hope the little guy got all his juice. this game was a gift and bundle of joy so thank you for the early christmas present

For the "GBC port of a MegaDrive game" vibe you've definitely nailed it. It absolutely reminds me of gameboy games that were overreaching what the little console could do, visually and audibly.

Controls are pretty tough, the fact that he jumps straight up when running across water rather than preserving your momentum makes it hard to avoid spikes. And there is the fact that he takes up so much of the screen and moves so fast. Probably the whole thing could use some tweaking to make it more playable overall, but I like what you were going for!

Thank you! Agreed on the momentum shift being jarring—I tried to find a way to keep you moving during a water-jump but just couldn't quite figure it out in time. definitely a consideration as I iterate further. thanks for the feedback!

I think the character moves too fast and the spikes bland too much with the ground, probably you should move the camera more to the direction the character is facing so you can see more of what's ahead and increase the chance of reacting to obstacles in time.

I think the character's hitbox is too big and takes half of the screen
