How did you incorprorate the theme?
the divergence is the size difference in the ping pong tournament, you are up against someone much faster, bigger and more agile than you.

Thank  you!!! Yeah, After the jam ends I will upload an update fixing some bugs, specially with low framerate that makes the game even harder 😅. And want to add more levels and mechanics too ^w^ thank you so much for playing

The game looks really good and idea with ping-pong is funny, but I havn't even beat the first opponent, too difficult..

Developer

Thank you so much!! and yeah, I see there's a bug with the reaction time on low frame-rate that is more common in some browsers, I will update the game after the jam ends fixing those things. thank you so much for your feedback!!

The graphics are great and I also like the story and concept. Once I got the hang of it and got into the groove, I also enjoyed your beat mapping, especially how you included the right hand. Well done! :)

I believe the brutal difficulty, the others mention as well, stems from a weird perspective visual problem. Maybe the scaling of the notes over time that stops right before the hit zone? I don't know. I can't quite put my finger on it. But it leads to you expecting the note to hit the bar earlier than it actually does. If you play to the beat and don't pay attention to the visuals, the notes are on beat quite well.

Thank you for playing, I’m very happy that you liked the experience, I found out why people find it too difficult and one of the reasons is the frame rate, apparently, if the game runs below 60fps there is a lack of coordination and the script reaction is not correct, I think I will solve this problem when the jam ends. What you tell me about the note scaling I have to tweak it a bit, I stop scaling it a bit before the end, but I think maybe I should stop scaling it even earlier to avoid that confusion you tell me. Again, thank you very much for the feedback, it will help me to improve the experience a lot!

Cute graphics! I included it in my Rhythm Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! and I am really sorry for the excessive difficulty, the idea was to allow several failures for each life, but time was running out and I could not implement it. also as I see in your video it gives you failures when I should give them for good, I think it is due to the low fps rate. I must correct that and calculate the delay that each one has so it does not happen. your video will help me a lot to improve the game after the jam, thanks for your feedback.

I like the concept and the art, but I think there could be a bigger pool of lives and maybe some sort of grace period at the beginning. Other than that, congrats for the entry!

Developer

Yeah... We plan to make different difficulties and more miss per life, but the time of the jam ran out :( we can only spend the last weekend in making all the game programatically

I really love the art, and the concept of a ping pong tournament is really cool.  I did find the game to be really punishing, but other than that, great job!

This could be a nice hyper casual game, however is too unforgiving. I died before getting into any groove and gave up after a few tries.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, its my first time with rhythm games, I have so much to learn from this. I will update the game with the feedback of the users after the jam ends. again, thank you!

I like the concept that you are up against someone and have to play a 4 lane rhythm game because of a ping pong match.

Some things that I suggest are making a lot easier difficulties, I think right now the map is pretty hard and also pretty unforgiving, so if you consider people that are newer to rhythm games maybe you could make easier difficulties or songs so that they don’t have to struggle as much.

Additionally, killing the player after just 3 attempts at hitting notes is too harsh so maybe you can have more lives or just have it impact your overall score at the end.

In any case, the idea of the game was interesting, it could very well be expanded on with more levels.

in the original idea we were going to do it in ascending scale of difficulty and with different rhythms, but the time we had due to our jobs was short and finally we didn't have time to introduce this. maybe later we will update with what we had planned from the beginning once the jam is over. Thank u so much for your feedback :3

loved the artstyle and music, both are super unique, the idea itself is very creative and the gameplay is very intuitive, i don't really have much to critique about it, overall great job!
