Looks like a very promising start! 🌱

I like the concept and the art, but I think there could be a bigger pool of lives and maybe some sort of grace period at the beginning. Other than that, congrats for the entry!

"it's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" 😆♥️

It is pretty glitchy, but I imagine emscripten might be partly to blame for that. Otherwise, cute game, nice style, reminds me of my Love2D projects :D

Amazing well-rounded game! Only small issue was with enemies not pathfinding correctly when disengaged, staying stuck at a certain location, which led to unavoidable detections. That aside, again, excellent :D

Nice little weird game :D Some quirky music would have complimented the visuals. Go Celly! :P

I meant it in no mean way. I'm not a stranger to the many shortcuts game jams made me take :)) Main character would untexturedly fit in a N64 game just wonderfully tho :D

Authentic vibe and throwback graphics, yummy! The two incentives go a bit against one another (get stuff fast vs take little breaks) so the game loop feels weird. If you polish this a little and do all the stuff you intended but didn't get time to do (great music), I think this will make for a wonderful post-jam game!

Very much a 90s throwback! The physics-based pushing made it a bit clunky, but it was enjoyable in the end. Great entry!

The SFX are quite fun. I feel there is a bit of a discrepancy between the charm of the main character and how the rest of the game looks overall. Good job!

I love how Korg M01D makes this cohesive, yet quirky. Very, very enjoyable tunes :D Also, the cover art is a minimalist delicacy, works great with the urban setting and the genre space this OST occupies.  Kudos!

Great atmosphere (and cover art)! The persistent ticking is a such a unique, haunting, tension-inducing motif and detailed track descriptions sell the fantasy!

I like the rich theme-structure connection from your description. The generation process is incredibly fascinating! (also bumped programmatic music up high in my list of priorities). Great entry!

Thanks, that clears it up for me!

From "The theme will be randomly picked half a hour before the jam" I understood that you have some themes in mind and you will pick one. I don't want you to divulge any of the possible themes, but I'd help me to know if they would, in principle, allow for more abstract graphics and game mechanics (while still being about Romania-related subjects). If that's the case, I'm more likely to be able to work towards and submit something :D

Hello!

Is there a list of theme candidates? (as other jams may offer on Discord, for instance). Or some clearer indication of what the theme will be like?

Due to considerations such as the level of my art skills etc., I tend to go for rather abstract interpretations of jam themes (while not compromising the spirit of the theme as much as I can, of course). Would I be able to do that here?

This was good! But with a little bit of interface and card info rework (e.g. text fitting within the screen, the cost of "Necro Mastery" not being entirely clear, etc) it could be great. Just the same, the base game is already solid. Congrats!

Thank you. I've stumbled upon some of these observations myself while playtesting post-submission. I thought mostly about how I'd go about RNG mitigation, but your feedback paints a more complete picture (first turn IS always a hit, now that you mention it).

Honestly, I expected the base system to not be salvageable, but I've surprised myself with how amenable to improvements it actually is. I'll likely add some changes to the game and your tips might end up in the updated version.

I really appreciate your detailed suggestions & had lot of fun with your game too! :D

Same thing for me. Too bad, because setting-/story-wise this felt great : (

This was short yet fun. Delicious art and color, great concept and tight puzzles! DO expand on this please! <3

My attacks where not connecting properly every time, but I managed to capture a few ghosts just the same :P Your game has a great setting & concept and it's quite good for your 1st 2D game and 2nd overall. With some iteration and polish, I'm sure it will turn out to be a great experience! Congrats and keep at it :)

Cute art style and overall fun game! Also. Voice. Acting. Wow.

Aiming is a bit weird, but had fun with it. Nice graphics! For a bit of fun factor, I stumbled upon a bug where I could control my corpse post-death and pick up some extra treasure for a while :)

Even if it is based on another game, it employs a very fun spin on it! Great presentation! I love Inscryption too <3 (tip: you could make the numbers on the cards a different colour, I had some trouble reading them)

Very polished and creative limitation-wise! I enjoyed it a lot :D

The movement is a tad chaotic, but it feels fun at the same time :D The art has a roughness that I enjoy, I'm a sucker for these aliased pixel rotations. Nice submission!

The idea is really neat. The components to be cleared don't always connect correctly, but the experience is engaging nonetheless!

Nice music and vibe overall. The collision with the spikes is a bit too unforgiving for how my platformer intuitions work (I'd trim the box to the actual spike height + a bit of margin on each side, but it's your call). Regardless of this, great entry!

Charming :D

Great character design.

Quite interesting! It's either that the controls/combining could be tweaked a bit or that the game is surprisingly challenging for me: I think my ambivalence says you really have something here :)) Great!

It was a bit confusing at the beginning, but I got the hang of it quickly enough. Groovy & topical to boot!

Was a bit moody, but this put a smile on my face! :)

I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be quite an engaging little game in all its 1-button glory! I love the aesthetic, keep NES-ing :)

Glad you liked it. And, really, thanks for the comment! The feedback is quite helpful as to find out what little details people found good/bad. I'm going to release a more polished version where I factor in these suggestions (when I get the time).

Thanks! The white ones are supposed to save you from some clutter between levels, but due to a miscalculated score function I see that you can effectively combo them if you keep clearing lots of gems :)
