Description
The original is an orchestral piece. I decided to transcribe and arrange it into a rock/metal format: Keys, guitars, bass, percussion and drums.
Keys take the role of the chorus, the six guitars cover the high and mid end winds and strings, and the bass covers the low end instruments.
For this project, I used Studio One 5 Artist.
I've always found this soundtrack captivating, and being able to transcribe has let me enjoy the videogames even more.

Fantastic arrangement and reimagining of the original - as others have said, it just needs a little more punch to take it to the next level.

I don't really have much feedback other than now I want an actual band to play it with a bit of punch. As one of the commenters mentioned below, just a bit more dynamic and punch so that the metal aspect of it is felt.

I love this overture, and as cool as the original orchestration is, I love hearing these melodies in the instrumentation that you choose. I feel like the metal vibe really fits Kratos too as a character, so mad props! Awesome sounding cover!!
Wow this sounds like this is the genre this song is supposed to be in! I really like your approach to orchestral reduction by pre-designating which instruments will take which roles - it turned out really well and blends together nicely and does not feel like it came from anything different than what it is. Great work and thank you for sharing!
This was really well done! I think a metal cover of this song fits really well, and you did a great job capturing the vibe of the original. I do feel like there were moments in the mix where I would've liked it to feel just "bigger" if that makes sense. Like, the song's dynamic level felt pretty much the same throughout and there are moments where some dynamic contrast would've been a nice touch. Even without it, I enjoyed it a lot!
