Description
This is an epic orchestral medley featuring many songs from Avatar the Last Airbender telling the story from Uncle Iroh's point of view. Iroh is a wise and compassionate character who has won the hearts of many who have seen the show, and is often the reason we return to watch it again. His tale is one of sadness, but also of unconditional love. Listen as he navigates his tea-loving journey and as he supports his nephew, Zuko, become the man he is meant to be.

Oh yeah I had the tsungi horn sound playing endlessly back then. This, along with the other tracks brought memories and im glad to hear this beautifully made pieces again of avatar and the creativity hete. Amazing work with this! The only thing I could probably say for this was I wish there was a bit more bass in the first track. Other than that, amazing work on this!
Thank you so much for your comment! Your feedback is appreciated as well!
Epic
Although I watch some Avatar, I don't remember much of the soundtrack unfortunately :/
The medley give and lead my feelings from one place to another, calm to sadness to serious
Looking at DAW screenshots, I have a heart attack seeing those instruments, tracks and the amount of original references :)) Pat yourself for a good job and the effort you put in.
Thank you for your comment! The goal was to lead you through a story so I'm glad that you were able to feel the emotions that were intended. And regarding the DAW screenshot, it is definitely the biggest project I've attempted so far, and it gave me anxiety as well!
Really good quality and sound, I could imagine this being part of the actual original score/soundtrack! Awesome work! :)
Ah in retrospect that sounds kinda dumb, obviously it all comes from the show, but I meant that the instrumentation you chose sounds authentic to the original lol
This means a lot! I respect this show so much and I wanted to be authentic, especially because some of the instruments in the show are not even real instruments so I had to do a lot of work to try and emulate the sound. Thank you for your comment!
I love Avatar so much, and I love Iroh, and you've definitely done the OST justice with this medley. I like how it's like a gentler, but also more conflicted version of it... I think it fits the character well. Amazing job!
Thank you for your comment! Iroh is such a wonderful character and I'm glad that what I've created works well describing his side of the story.
Wow, amazing sound design. The transition between pieces feels natural. And good job in representing Iroh's pain in the music.
Thank you! Trying to emulate the original instruments and creating non-jarring transitions were where I spent the majority of my time on this project. I appreciate your comment!
Blue Lava, your work is as always amazing! This medley is real great! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the kind comment!
Very solid.
My only very slight critique is perhaps it doesn't deviate much in sound from what it came from, but regardless, this is really good. If anything, you've demonstrated a mastery the digital music toolset to where now if you are writing your own compositions, the quality of the sound and the ability to place instruments is something you'll hopefully have a pretty fluid mastery of.
Really good use of pitch bending and things like that, getting all the subtle details of the music in.
Thank you for listening and commenting. I definitely agree that studying from great works influences and benefits your own music. I am honored that this is your critique! Since this is a medley rather than a cover, I approached the creative compositional task as finding unique and interesting ways to tie the music together and to recreate the sounds that felt authentic to the original. The fact that creating everything from scratch and interspersing my own original content feels authentic means that I succeeded in my goal! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
Wow. No notes, this was good! It feels almost like you just clipped audio from the soundtracked together, that's how well it's done! I'm really impressed!
Thank you for your comment! I wish that it could have been that simple, recreating it from scratch and adding my own flare in the same style was a very long process, but I suppose mission-accomplished if it sounds like it came from source audio!
I just want to clarify my comment for a second, because I feel like it maybe came across like your project didn’t sound original. I can definitely hear your personal touch, and I love the order and meaning you chose for the pieces in the medley.
My initial comments mostly were just me being wowed by the quality of the instruments and your mix/master, and so I was attempting to communicate that it feels like a very professionally done piece that could be heard in the show!
I appreciate the clarification and thank you so much for the compliment!
Yay! Another Avatar submission! I love the way you framed it from the perspective of Uncle Iroh. It felt like I just watched the whole show again. Absolutely stunning, thanks so much for sharing!
Oh awesome! It's a show with such great music that it definitely deserves to be represented more than once! I'm looking forward to listening to yours which, judging by the title, covers one of my favorite songs that I wasn't able to include in my medley.
I LOVE THIS! This sounds so majestic and wonderful! I can tell a lot of effort was put into it!
Great job!
Thank you so much for listening and for this kind comment. It was a big undertaking, but I'm happy it paid off!
