I got sent here by Texas, passing on their review message to you

Lupo loves this soundtrack, with its engaging story behind it too

Our Garden (Main Theme) - Melodies are beautiful, with piano, flute, and violin strings tenderly attached yet pulling heartstrings, the brass pushing forward with such force of conviction. Sad yet beautiful.

  • Although feel off about the brass, when it was longer, it should fluctuate a bit, because normal brass players find it hard to constantly extend long note it (Air lungs are very limited).
  • Lupo would love a section of brass staccato with synth arp and metallic ambiance from 2:10, a final harshness remnant reminder from previous tension release before fading into the piano.

Concrete Sandcastles - Loves the guitar and its slide, I imagined the girl playing with sand, glancing at the window once and a while seeing the vast space from the spaceship (Kinda contradictory to how main story supposed to be, oops).

Storm Warning V1 - Nice, the ambiance gets lupo imaginative about exploring,

  • But weirdly, lupo imagined it as rainy not sandy (lupo was kinda surprised when read the track description).
  • The naming of the track causes confusion, "Sandstorm Warning V1" would set listeners to properly imagine the setting.
  • It would be lovely if you dabble more into ambient environment sound design, like having sandstorm sound effects and occasional hauntingly EAS (Emergency Alert System) or HEV suit system notification going haywire (Half-Life Sound Effect) in the intro and outro.
  • You can add an outro with a long hauntingly warning sound with distortion (Indicating that the player failed to return to the shelter, swallowed by sandstorm).

The vibe reminded me of some FTL, Modern Warfare 2 (2006), Spec Ops: The Line, and Hiroyuki Sawano.

PS. You know, each time after the soundtrack ends, SoundCloud just autoplay The Christmas Song Will Stetson, could you make a Christmas song in this apocalyptic sandstorm place (or Delphinium will throw a tantrum if you don't bring a present) :]

PS2. Kinda wishes more people would listen to this :(

Let me know something here !!

Hey fox, if you managed to read this

The small lupo ask me to stand by here for 1 hour deep in thoughts, goddammit Texas

Ya really make the lupo worry about ya so much, so really goddammit fox

...

Thank you for listening, I mean it

At this point, you should understand what is means about self-acceptance.

It's about time, you dumbass.

(The small lupo is around somewhere, i'm sure that one feels proud about ya)

Because you fulfilled a promise.

Before I forget, this is what the small lupo wrote

The small lupo make me like this submission, or it will bite me

I love it (both in fear, and such nice music)

PS - This is the 2nd time I got duped by SynthV (End of a World by BBBrezel)

Such a memorable and intriguing soundtrack for me, the music and description

At first, I didn’t understand much, not have much listening experience in genres (Acoustic Orchestra, Film Scoring, Ambient). On repeated listening, I found myself appreciating more, and noticing little details. It just grows on me to become my favorite :]

On the music,

Acoustic (in a way of Asian style), Minimal, and Ambient create colorful texture landscape.

In Between, Embark, Plain, Meander, Erupt and There Is Void are special and hard to describe, but they reinforce the theme unconsciously.

Sand Tower is memorable to me, I would find myself humming and hearing bumbumbumbahbumbumbum back of my mind, a push-pull effect, it is like I have to drag myself each step.

On the description,

It resonated as someone who has done creative work (both story writing and music), the frustration and struggle with oneself towards creative art creation. I would love to read a story written by you, that would tightly tie the soundtrack as its own identity.

PS - I would love to remix this, to explore some of the ideas in my free time.

PS2 - To get you started, what is the girl's name and her life? (keep it a secret from me, and continue writing :])

Thank you for your mind-blown!!

Me and Texas could be described as music arranger hobbyist, who never went through music school (We would break every instrument we could find, force 3 drummers to play at the same time, and throw the piano out the window), like to listen and embrace different cultures (Classical, Acoustic, Electronic, Game Soundtrack, DJ Mix, Doujin Music Groups,...)

If you want to do this genre or lack thereof,

  • You have to be crazy, 1st and foremost.
  • Ambitious, imagination and the feelings that is actually true to your body and heart (not the mind). Work on something that you interested.
  • A profound understanding of when the vibe should happen, arrangement transitions, when to stop, and when it is just too repetitive and boring. Predictability and proper time allocation are necessary here.
  • Identify sound opportunities by instinct and explore them with many genres and personal styles.
  • Not recommended but, remix someone's music, and you will make new techniques that will engrave in your body as you work on them.
  • Finally, find your enjoyment, do your stuff, and expand your taste in music.

Understand the instructions so far? No, well broke the rules. (Don’t break Mono Mixing rule, or you have a bad day)

Good, now make music that wow me and Texas, and inspires someone to take music composition as their hobby

PS -

"A plushy that is not a fumo should be called a plumo"

I apologize on behalf of this lupo

PS2 - Kinda a long response. Oh, the pun.

Nah, ya cool, don't be too hard on yourself, please do be considerate for others (they may not share the same view unfortunately, just be careful :/)

Our taste (me and texas) is a combination of doujin music groups, game soundtracks, and other artists too

Doujin Music Groups:

  • Otographic Music
  • Compllege / Electro.muster / Alstroemeria Records / Shibayan Records
  • Diverse System

Games:

  • Touhou / Irisu Syndrome (join the culture, mwahaha)
  • 7th Dragon III Code VFD (the best one we enjoy)
  • Yugioh NDS and Tag Force PSP / 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
  • Trauma Center NDS / Trauma Team Wii
  • Final Fantasy 13 / Dissidia PSP
  • Dead Rising 2 / Persona 3 / Yakuza
  • COD Black Ops / Payday
  • DJ Hero

Artist:

  • BT
  • Linkin Park
  • Death Grips / Clown Core (We do like weird stuff)

Thank you for business transaction, we do hope you enjoy our weird tastes (and found some that inspire and encourage you to do music)

PS - We don't mind ya share this post to others :]

PS2 - Gotta check your heroes one day :]]

I appreciate your honesty :]

Your opinion is valid, we have our taste buds, we enjoy what we like, and we don't want people to shove their taste into ours. Let them explore and find what they like.

You don't understand this genre is also valid because I don't understand what I'm making :] If it sounds good and I like it, screw it.

On distortion stuff, I just want to protect your ears on certain tracks (Hildegard Vision, UM2S Diagnostic), this is one area that I have to be careful with (EQ out high frequency but still keep the original design intention, boomy but not constant ringing, importantly keep the vibe going)

Volume, ahhh hmm, well just listen to the level you comfortable, want to vibe with (Let the house boom if ya need to)

PS -

To quote from Texas "It's Celeste but more pixel who continue to contribute the community with unconditional love, me likey"

idk it's a positive or negative thing, but the small lupo insists on it

PS2 -

I am interested in your taste buds, could you introduce some of your favorites? (Me and Texas might love it, I would introduce ours too as a fair exchange) (Someone introduced us to ZEUHL rock genre, which is kinda of a surprise for us)

What a vibe, I really enjoyed it.

My favorite one is Help! My Song Is Stuck In A Tree

It reminded me a lot of playing Wonderland Adventures Game :]

PS - would ya interested in my new pyramid ? :]

(2 edits)

I love drums, and you can't deny me that :]

The melody is really a vibe check too (chiptune and piano)

Such a good production, I have a blast through it

I really like it, the way you used sound design and recording in such a masterful way that I could imagine the ecosystem happen inside computer

FloraAndFauna.zip, DreamTree.sys are the favorites !!

PS - Give you a zip bomb :]

I love it and I thank your back for this :]

Mystery Classical, Delicious Jazz Piano, Kazoo & Sax, Emotional Passionate Song for The Pretty Boy

You guys have done a great job on the vibe, capturing the aspect of everyday life, and the imaginative nature of the child.

You got me thinking, about how a child easy going with their life, not knowing about the world, yet their heart is so fragile, yet we ask them to cope, and live strong, how would they know how to do that? (when we even can't) ...

I... (If you have ever been to hospital, you would understand the sadness)

SynthV :] Goddammit, you pulled a switcheroo on me

End of A World is such a sad yet beautiful, the humming lullaby adds so much emotion, and texture to the main melody

Hold Your Ground is melodically driven, suitable as a battle theme, it needs more variation and different styles (groove, arrangement, solo and stuff) to bring the best out of it

There is so much potential to explore in music and story writing too, I would like you to continue and give me more.

PS - I would like to remix this someday, it is too cool to pass it :]]

Beautiful.

The orchestra swiftly tugs the string of hearts in so many ways.

Be proud and stand tall.

Modular and Generative all the way!!

Me and my friend Texas adored the drawings!! They are just so special, that resemblance to how we view our childhood once

Sharp - Zone 3: The Depths, Rusty - Zone 4: The Docks, Autumn - Epilogue are the favorites!!

Ambient genre is kind of hard for us to sit in one place, boring at times, but we do sit down our bum and listen to interesting bits to embrace the atmosphere you expertly created

PS - There's just something in your song that I want to remix to express something, would you let me do it if I ever find free time? (It may not be ambient)

(2 edits)

You have no idea how much we are smiling with joy now!! (There are so many things, but we couldn't express it properly, hahaha :] )

Me and my friend currently tried to make time to listen to everyone's submissions, there are a lot of talented people here with creativity and we are trying to immerse and understand their perceptive on the contest theme.

We will find time for you too!! That's for sure.

Creativity is different from person to person, we want you to find your joy and go all out, we too want to experience your creativity you know !!

PS - There is one more :] But you have to locate the small lupo from somewhere that is in plain sight, ask someone who has seen it.

PS2 - How many OS in this jam :? soulOS, UM2S OS

Kudos for making songs on GarageBand !!

I like FREEFALL II & III, I Know (I Know). They make me feel melancholic, deep in thought and focused.

I am only a listener, but I kind of found the overall soundtrack volume is way louder than I normally hear in mine and others. The drums (especially when the snare hits), synths, and vocals make for very boomy sometimes harsh on the speaker.

To study in a small room, I have to lower the speaker volume enough to comfortably enjoy and not be distracted (lower than the normal I listen to, 20-30% on headphones, 50% on speaker)

My normal listening reference if you want, Windows PC, 30-50% on the headphone, 75% on the speaker

I may be wrong; this is just how I could immerse myself in the melancholic album.

I absolutely love it, I bang hard on the wall, the door, the chair, and the doggo outside the house.

HARDCORE REALLY, GLITCHY BEEP BOOP, GODDAMMIT NOW YOU'RE GONNA DONK ME WITH RUSSIA HARD BASS, I SWEAR TO GOD I HEAR THAT DNB TOP LOOP FROM SOMEWHERE, DUCK IT I WILL DANCE TO IT NO MATTER WHAT

I can’t help but think of Electric Sheep. At 2:24, when you introduced the bright synth arp, it reset and lost the momentum of the previous section setup.

I think it could be better in progression if you make 2:00 a long vibe check, rework 2:24 as slowly introduce synth bright arp, create tension friction teeth grinding until force goes into breakdown 3:40. But it is still fine, if interruption is the main design intention.

PS - I'm actually interested in remixing your songs, if I ever find some time off, would ya let me?

(1 edit)

"I don't compute." says Hildegard casually munching on a jam sandwich

I'm glad you enjoy the soundtrack; We want to encourage everyone to have fun and inspire when interpreting this album, both musically and in writing.

If you want to enjoy something similar to this, music or story plot, Xenosaga and FF13 are the jam

PS. To anyone who reads this, I place easter eggs here and there and over the places, have fun trying to catch them all :)

PS2. Your positivity powers me through the day, thanks man!!

Let me know if something goes wrong !!

Let me know if there are any problems !!

Love the funkiness guitar blues of Passion track!

where's my water, ducky?

Classical Whimsical!! :]

Liking the ambient and laidback of 2nd track Mighty Mountains of Destiny.

Good composition and quality!! The caffeine worth it :)

Also, kind of Disney-ish, I think?

Energetic piece with beautiful piano! For your first time on the genre, it is quite good :)

Artcore is also one of my inspirations as composer, especially on the drums.

ya always deliver the best funk synthwave I never knew I wanted for my PS1 :]]

oh no i break my ds :]]

The art is kind of Chrono Trigger style; the music gives me Cave Story vibe.

Noice :]]

Blues and Ballad, love the vibe and atmosphere ya create.

larry suit game :]] also nice variety of genre too.

However, like one person said about the ringing noise, it is kind of too much for my ears :[ ya could potentially damage your hearing.

Quite skilled piano playing :)

The tutorial is an unhinged piece, however kind of distracting due to volume.

Although I have to save the townsfolk, I feel like I want to raid Dracula house :]]

And the rhythm actually challenges me. It would kill some Osu players :]]

Time is certainly a scary thing, it's come and goes.

Viva la France and synths !! :))

Music vibe is sus and funky, I swear I can sing and rap this without getting tired :]]

Kudos for quite literally add clock sounds :]]

Remind me heavily of The Witcher 3, and the house rumble with epicness from my speaker :]]

Kudos to you for quite a nordic music :]]

Although I kind of wishes for a section (around 16 bars+) near the end, just a longer ambient with strings and each male choir notes play space further from each other, hauntingly then finally silence.
