Mr. Cool is only controlled by one button called the "action button". What the action button does depends on the direction in the port.

Wow! This is a really neat puzzle game. I  think the graphics are perfectly formed, the sound design is superb and puts weight into the actions.  This game is surprisingly well-rounded and juicy, kinda like grape, in fact!

Well done!

This was unexpectedly polished and well designed. I was expecting a pretty rough game from the previews but this is really good. I found myself having to plan out how I was gonna move through the level and timing my moves. I almost got caught by the incorrect paths but luckily I was smart enough to think ahead.

The sound is also well done, the first OH YEAH I think set up the tone well, and the sounds for interacting with the UI and the victory sounds are great. The music is simple but effective, which is really the sort of thing a puzzle game needs.

The game almost seems too good to be so bad its good, but I think the art and sounds keep it just within range. The gameplay isn't really like anything I've played before, the closest would be something like DOD SO FUBAR but even that is a wildly different implementation.

Excellent work!

I thought this was a really cool puzzle game idea

The initial OH YEAH kind of set the tone for the whole game. It definitely hits some "so bad it's good" notes, but the gameplay at its heart is innovative and pretty damn good. Almost too good, I think- to me it's not really in the territory of so bad it's good anymore. I really, really like the idea of disposable actions that you have to select.

The puzzle design itself is a bit of a mixed bag. Most of the initial puzzles are dead easy, with obvious solutions and obvious non-solutions, but some of the later ones get trickier and more complicated. If the whole game was like the later puzzles I think it would be a stronger puzzle game. I'm still not sure whether reusing the same puzzles with the addition of grape haters is a cheap trick to artificially extend gameplay or a brilliant strategy to reuse work.

I do appreciate that the game is forgiving, and I like the chill atmosphere and victory sound as well.

What a rush!  I cannot get enough of this cool guy.  I wish I could be as cool and grape-loving and blind as he is.

Based on the screenshots posted here, i was not expecting much from this entry, maximum a shitpost or something. Jesus was i wrong. The gameplay is great, i love the sounds, all in all a surprisingly fantastic entry.

Really solid concept, we may or may not have thought of the same mechanic simultaneously, lol :)

It’s short, sweet, and highly intuitive. I like how you taunt players with shorter paths that eventually turn out to be the incorrect path. Overall it held my interest throughout.

The graphics are drawn in like 5 minutes but they have a lot of charm to them. Details like the zoom transitions and audio cues really helped its charm, too.

Had a lot of fun with it, and it was just as long as it needed to be.

Really solid entry! Great controls, original idea, ambient audio, and it's overall just really fun! I'd almost say it's more good than bad... I found the scribble style graphics and buttons to be really aesthetically pleasing! But I totally see what you were goin for :)

I could totally see this being a great mobile game or something!

Keep up the good work!

I found the game quite enjoyable, the levels were great and fun. The art and the constantly changing background fits the game jam theme.

The movement mechanic is great and well executed. The addition of enemies added to the difficulty of the levels.

I would I argue that the "eject" button is part of Mr. Cools movement, because without it he wouldn't be able to change the direction of his movement, so technically there's two buttons.

Overall the game itself is really good and it perfectly fits the game jam.

"A puzzle game about guiding a cool guy to his grapes." <--- that tagline got me lol. I loved the simple premise of leading a cool smiley to his grapes, and it made it even better that out of all the graphics, the grapes were just a render of real grapes haha. The game was pretty fun and simple, and I liked the creative concept of how you implemented the modifer. Also, I DID NOT expect that difficulty curve near the end. My only complaint would be I wasn't a fan of the changing colors in the background, but other than that, a solid entry... truly so bad it's good. Fun, simple, cute!

This is such a clever idea for the one button modifier!
