Wow its nice to see someone else tried a murder mystery game for this jam!

Also I admit I definitely didn't expect there to be another game with the same beats and themes as mine hahaha! But I guess great minds thnk alike!

The only major issue I enounctered was when I tried to pin Karen as the murderer, a dialogue tree started, but then after one line stopped and I was exited back to the suspect selection screen. And when I tried to select Karen again it would just send me to a blank detective line and then boot me back to the selection screen again.

Aside from that, I loved the MS paint artstyle, it reminded me of a mix of Curse of the Golden Idol and some of the older games made by Yahtzee Croshaw. And some of the little details like the tears added to the detective and all the weird meow-centric phrasings of Whiskers was nice.

I do think the total absence of sound was disappointing though, even just some basic background music would've been nice.

I tried to get through as many of the dialogue options as I could, and I really liked how speaking to characters opened up dialogue options with other characters. Thats actually something I had wanted to add to my entry alongside conversations with multiple suspects at a time. So I like how your team implemented it!

I think my favourite endings were either the whiskers or detective endings, but the 5 I got were all nice and funny in their own way.

Good work!

This was such an awesome entry! I love a good murder mystery, and this one created a really interesting set of characters.  I love the completely mismatched graphics that somehow all fit together.

I managed to get all six endings according to the menu (though I think Karen's ending bugged out slightly).  Loved the "It was me all along" ending and all the rest had satisfying conclusions too! Thanks so much for submitting!

I liked the MSPaint visual style, which totally fits for SBIG Jam. There are a lot of confusing UI elements- why do some buttons have unexplained icons on their frames- and some things that just don't work, but whatever, it's meant to be so bad it's good, not flawlessly executed!

I do wish you could click once to show dialogue and then again to skip rather than just once to skip. And it would have been nice to have background music. These aren't deal-breakers, but they're definitely weaker points.

Unfortunately the humour really didn't land for me, and given that this game is really centered around the narrative that pretty much killed the appeal for me. I can't specifically point to why it didn't resonate with me; it punches down a bit, and it works off cliches, but I've enjoyed other works that do the same thing. I did finish the game and get what I think was the good ending, but I don't have much desire to play it through again.

I really liked how the game kept switching between shitposting and excessively-high-quality writing, really gives it a SBIG feel imo

Best conversation I've had with a cat in a while! Great (mostly nonsensical) murder mystery game! You guys definitely pulled off the good + bad art, and the narrative was fun to play out. Thanks for making it!

The conversations are quite funny, although I'm missing some background music. Nice job tho!
