Very interesting game idea and pretty fun to play, my only critic would be that it lacks a minimap on a corner with the stones and the people. I think it would be much more enjoyable !
Great work for the game and particularly its polishing, with a tutorial and all !
Thank you for taking the time! I agree, a minimap was on the list along with monsters guarding the rocks a roll/dash mechanic and so on. The starting location menu won in my eyes, as I was thinking that without a map it's still fun, but more challenging as you'd have to remember the locations in order to get the highest score.
Rather interesting concept, with surprisingly well thought out execution. As it stands right now, the gameplay loop feels rather fully formed, albeit not that deep.
Impressive that you were able to get this done and as well polished with just one person over the short time period. Good work!
Thank you for taking the time and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
It was definitely a goal of mine to make a polished/finished game, if nothing else I just wanted to finish a project where I'm happy with it. Might come back to it though, to add the features I envisioned for it but didn't have time to implement at a high enough level :)
Thank you for taking the time I'm glad you liked it, means a lot! I was very happy with how the hand + stone movement animations turned out, was my first time doing them that way :)
You did a very good job. I love pixel art. I especially love the lighting in your game. It's just gorgeous! It's very cool that you can start the game from different places.
Thank you very much for taking the time and for the nice words, glad you liked it!
Nice! What was the inspiration for the suspenders?
Thanks! Didn't really have an inspiration, I just wanted to make a peaceful game without fighting that would have an objective and a fun way to keep score. So after writing down ideas, I liked this one the most (unfortunately there were more features planned but I ran out of time).
Oh, just realized, you were probably thinking why the suspenders for the character :D Well, while I was making a walk animation, I didn't want it to be a boring one, so I added a lot of hand movement, and the way it turned out I felt like he needed suspenders so that a fun walk animation goes with the fun pants :D
That makes sense! I knew someone that wore suspenders, it reminded me of him
I really like pixel art in this game. The gameplay is great too. I also like to choose where to start, I mean lakes, wasteland and forest.
A very good game.
Thank you very much for the nice words and for giving it a go!
Great game! Love the 2D lighting effects, they fit nicely with the theme and background of the game. The different starting zones add a lot of depth to this too
Thank you for trying it and for the encouraging words! Glad you liked it.
Really good job completing a level with with a tutorial and three different areas, also the visual style is nice, the gameplay loop maybe needs an extra mechanic on top of it so it is more engaging.
well done!!
Thank you very much for taking the time and for the feedback! I agree with the extra mechanic point, was definitely my plan, but unfortunately I ran out of time.
Nice design, i take it in note. The concept is simple but attractive
Thank you for trying the game and for the nice words!
The glowing stones look cool, I like that a help menu pops up each time you get to another person to show you which stones you can merge, it's really useful.
Thanks, glad you like it! :)
Nice concept, It's good start. Really liked the visuals.
Maybe consider adding some enemies (zombies, monster, etc??) to add a bit of challeng on picking up the stones.
Good job :)
Thank you for the rating and a nice comment! It was definitely on my to-do list along with plenty of other stuff, unfortunately I ran out of time and had to cut some things.
