Hi! I like the game. The time challenge works pretty well with scoreboard. I was surprised by the ability to jump with hiding, but slowing down the movement makes it quite accurate. The penalty for being caught by an eagle is small, so the challenge is moderate, which is a plus and a characteristic of this game. Good direction! I know it's my second comment, but I have play some more to get some more feeling about this game.
Hiding also makes you smaller, so you can jump + hide through small spaces
The game is fluid but I thought the A.I. das eagles is a little slow I jumped several times with nothing in the inventory and it didn't give game over, and I thought that the difficulty is a little low, because there is a good size of scenery and I saw that I can just stay close to home that all the time new nuts appear, it gets a bit repetitive and doesn't influence exploration. I don't know much more about something like eagles standing at a high point waiting for the player to enter their range of vision and giving the possibility to cross obstacles when they attack to catch the player and if he manages to dodge it, return to the starting position and try to locate- lo again, this forces the player to be more stealthy I kind of managed to collect some nuts without any problems just dodging the eagles and due to their action time you can easily jump over them.
Sorry for the giant text, I didn't want to criticize the game too much, just help with some points, since it helped me.
The eagles definitely need some work. They are not balanced, mostly because I didn't have enough time.
Definitely a solid start, but as others have mentioned, I would recommend working on the feel of the player movement, and making sure the platform placement doesn't hinder jumping. But keep at it!
You can jump and hide at the same time. Hiding makes you smaller so you can fit through the smaller spaces. Might not be visible because the jump animation stays the same size.
You can also jump first, then move while in the air.
With both you should be able to fit through all the spaces between plarforms.
Its fun. Make the jump more responsive and less floaty by making the character fall faster, it makes a huge difference in the game feel :)
Hola, this is pretty cool for such a short gamejam. Ive made a platformer for my previous school assignment so im just gonna leave the resources i used to make the platforming "feel" a lot better:
Thank you, I will definitely have a look at those.
Hi there! The games feels fun. Level has an accurate design for time challange. Not too easy and not too hard to remember path to Ziggy's home. Could you please add some description? Is it your graphics and music and sound?
Credits are on the game page, with links.
Got it, thanks!
